If you want a rugged, dedicated shield for your existing Anker Soundcore earbuds to prevent physical damage while commuting or traveling, choose Hermitshell Hard Travel Case; if you need versatile, open-ear wireless audio with week-long battery life and splash protection for active daily use, choose BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds. These two products solve entirely different problems: one is a protective vessel for a device you already own, while the other is a complete audio solution designed for comfort and endurance during movement. I have analyzed the specifications of both to help you decide which fits your specific lifestyle needs without getting lost in marketing fluff or unnecessary comparisons.
• Hermitshell Hard Travel Case: Its greatest strength is heavy-duty EVA protection tailored specifically for Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo, Lite, and Life A1 models, but it offers zero audio capability on its own and lacks water resistance. This pick is strictly for owners of those specific earbuds who prioritize keeping their gear safe from bumps and scratches in a bag.
• BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds: The standout feature is the massive 40-hour total playtime combined with an open-ear design that keeps your surroundings audible, though it requires purchasing a whole new audio system rather than just protecting an old one. This choice is ideal for commuters, runners, and office workers who need all-day listening without ear fatigue or isolation.
The Hermitshell Hard Travel Case is not an audio product; it is a specialized storage solution built from Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA). If you are the type of person who throws your earbuds into a backpack pocket alongside keys, coins, and pens, this case is your answer. The internal dimensions are precisely engineered to hold the Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo, Liberty Lite, or Soundcore Life A1 models snugly, ensuring they do not rattle around or get crushed. The material choice here is deliberate: EVA provides a durable, shock-absorbent shell that shields your expensive electronics from dents, scratches, and impacts that would otherwise occur during travel or rough handling.
This product is for the practical traveler or the commuter who already owns compatible Anker earbuds and has no intention of replacing them soon. It serves a singular, vital function: organization and preservation. When you close the lid, your earbuds are secured in a known location, eliminating the frustration of digging through a bag to find a single lost bud. However, you must be aware of its limitations. Furthermore, because it is a case only, it contains no batteries, speakers, or connectivity features. You cannot buy this expecting sound; you are buying a fortress for sound that already exists elsewhere.

You should skip this product if you are looking for waterproof protection, if your current earbuds are not from the Anker Soundcore lineup mentioned above, or if you need a device that can actually produce music. It is a passive accessory, perfect for someone who values the longevity of their hardware over new features. The weight is negligible at 0.05 kg, making it easy to carry anywhere, but it adds bulk to your pocket unless you are using a bag where organization is key.
The BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds represent a shift away from the traditional in-ear canal seal toward a more breathable, situational awareness-focused experience. These clip-on earbuds are designed to rest over the outer ear, leaving the ear canal completely open. This design philosophy means you never experience the "plugged up" feeling or the end-of-day ache that comes from silicone tips. Instead, you can listen to podcasts or music while still hearing coworkers talking, traffic approaching, or announcements in a busy station. The open-ear architecture makes these buds particularly suitable for people who need to stay alert to their environment while enjoying audio content.
Battery life is where this product truly distinguishes itself for the long haul. The charging case acts as a power bank, delivering up to 40 hours of total playtime when combined with the buds themselves. This is not just about listening for a few hours; it is about carrying a full week of audio usage in a small, portable package. You can charge the case once a week and go about your daily routine—commuting, working out, running errands—without hunting for an outlet. The case itself also doubles as a secure organizer, with molded seats that ensure you always know exactly where each bud is, preventing the common loss of a single earbud under couch cushions.
These buds are built for an active lifestyle. They carry an IPX5 water resistance rating, which protects against sweat during intense gym sessions and splashes from rain or sidewalks. While they are not designed for submersion like a swimming headset, they handle the moisture of a workout far better than standard electronics. The lightweight 3-ounce kit fits easily into any pocket or bag pouch without creating a bulge. Additionally, the interchangeable design allows you to wear just one bud if you need to focus on a conversation or split attention between tasks. If you are tired of adjusting tight ear tips and want a setup that stays put while you move, these are a strong contender.
However, the trade-off is that you are buying a new ecosystem. You cannot simply drop these into an existing case or use them with your current phone's default settings without pairing them via wireless technology. They are not noise-canceling in the traditional sense; rather, they rely on the open design to let ambient sound in naturally. If your goal is to block out the world completely to focus on deep work or to sleep in a noisy room, these might not be the right fit. But for anyone prioritizing comfort, safety, and extended battery life during the day, the value proposition is significant.
• Best for physical protection of existing gear → Hermitshell Hard Travel Case: If your priority is keeping your Anker Soundcore earbuds from breaking, this case offers superior impact resistance compared to the soft plastic of the BestPriceCenter case.
• Best for extended battery life → BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds: With a 40-hour total capacity, these buds eliminate the anxiety of dying mid-day, whereas the Hermitshell case has no battery at all.
• Best for active sports and sweat → BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds: The IPX5 rating ensures these survive sweaty workouts and rainy commutes, while the Hermitshell case offers no water resistance.
• Best for situational awareness → BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds: The open-ear design lets you hear your surroundings, a critical safety feature for runners and cyclists that sealed cases cannot provide.
• Best for organization and portability → Hermitshell Hard Travel Case: Its rigid structure prevents crushing in a crowded bag, offering a dedicated spot for a specific device that the flexible BestPriceCenter case does not match in terms of crush protection.
• Best for versatility and compatibility → BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds: These work with any cell phone, laptop, or tablet via Bluetooth, unlike the Hermitshell case which is locked to specific Anker models.
• Best for swimming preparation → Hermitshell Hard Travel Case: While neither is a swimming headphone, the Hermitshell case is the only option listed here that could theoretically be used to transport equipment for swimming if the user had separate waterproof buds, whereas the BestPriceCenter buds are only splash-resistant.
• Best for daily comfort over long periods → BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds: The lack of ear canal insertion means you can wear them for hours without pain, a distinct advantage over traditional in-ear solutions.
In my opinion, the BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds are the clear winner for most users today because they offer a complete, modern audio experience with genuine utility. The combination of open-ear comfort, 40-hour battery life, and sweat resistance creates a product that solves real daily problems rather than just storing a device. However, if your primary concern is protecting a specific set of Anker earbuds you already love, the Hermitshell Hard Travel Case is an indispensable tool for extending their lifespan. Neither product is a "best hi res sleep headphones for swimming" solution, nor are they "best in ear headphones for swimming" in the literal sense of being submerged. If you are looking for best noise canceling headphones for swimming, neither of these options will serve that specific aquatic purpose, as one is a case and the other is only splash-resistant. Ultimately, I recommend the BestPriceCenter buds for their ability to keep you connected and comfortable throughout a busy week, while the Hermitshell case remains a niche accessory for the organized owner of compatible Anker gear.
No, the BestPriceCenter buds have an IPX5 rating, which covers sweat and light splashes, but they are not designed for submersion or swimming activities.
No, the Hermitshell listing specifies that the sale includes the case only; the actual Anker Soundcore earbuds must be purchased separately.
