If you want professional-grade sound isolation and a wired connection for precise DJ monitoring, choose Hercules HDP DJ45; if you need long battery life, active noise cancellation, and true wireless freedom for daily commuting or gym sessions, choose TREBLAB Z7-Pro.
While both options sit firmly in the over-ear category, they serve two completely different worlds. The Hercules model is built for the booth, prioritizing physical durability and signal fidelity through a hard-wired link. The TREBLAB is engineered for the modern commuter and athlete, focusing on silence, portability, and seamless Bluetooth connectivity. Neither is inherently superior; they are simply optimized for different environments. If you are looking for over ear headphones for swimming, neither of these devices is actually suitable due to their lack of waterproofing ratings required for submersion, but understanding their core strengths helps clarify which one fits your actual daily routine better.
• Hercules HDP DJ45: Strength lies in its closed-back design for maximum sound isolation and a flexible spiral cable that adjusts from 1 to 2 meters for performance freedom. Trade-off is the lack of wireless capability and no active noise cancellation, making it strictly a wired solution. This pick is for DJs and audio purists who need reliable, low-latency monitoring.
• TREBLAB Z7-Pro: Strength is found in its Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation, 38-hour battery life, and multipoint Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity that links two devices simultaneously. Trade-off is the reliance on a battery and the potential for slight latency compared to a direct wired connection. This pick is for travelers, office workers, and fitness enthusiasts who value convenience and silence.
• The Verdict on Use Cases: If your primary goal involves mixing tracks or working in loud environments without battery anxiety, go with Hercules. If you need to block out an airplane cabin or commute noise while staying connected to your phone and laptop, the TREBLAB is the clear winner.
The Hercules HDP DJ45 is not trying to be a lifestyle accessory; it is a tool designed for a specific, high-demand profession. At its core, this headphone relies on a circumaural design that fully encircles the ears rather than resting on them. You get powerful sound output driven by a 60-Ohm impedance rating, which ensures that even lower-powered audio sources can push enough volume to be heard clearly.

The most defining feature for any user here is the cable management. Unlike standard headphones that have a fixed wire, this unit features a single-sided spiral cable that can extend from 3.3 feet up to more than 6.6 feet. This isn't just about length; it is about freedom of movement during a performance. A DJ can move away from the mixer, twist around, and the cable will stretch and retract without tangling or pulling on the device. Furthermore, the earpieces rotate, allowing for "one-ear monitoring." This is a critical technique where a performer hears the track in one ear while keeping the other open to the room's ambient sound, a maneuver that would be impossible with non-pivoting hardware.
Who should buy this? Anyone working in a live music environment or a studio setting where a stable, zero-latency wired connection is non-negotiable. The build quality utilizes metal and plastic components, suggesting a ruggedness meant to withstand the rigors of transport and daily use. However, you must skip this product if you value wireless freedom or need to travel without carrying a charging cable. It has no battery, no Bluetooth, and no active cancellation. It is a dedicated piece of equipment for those who prioritize audio fidelity and physical control over modern conveniences like wireless streaming.
The TREBLAB Z7-Pro is built for the person who moves constantly and needs their audio environment to adapt on the fly. Its standout feature is the Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation system, which uses four microphones positioned both inside and outside the ear cups. According to the specifications, this setup targets a -30dB reduction in noise, effectively blocking out the roar of a commute, the hum of an open office, or the drone of an airplane engine. What sets it apart is the ability to switch instantly between ANC, Transparency mode, and Normal mode with a single button press. This flexibility allows you to hear announcements when needed without removing the headphones.
Battery life is another massive differentiator. While the Hercules relies entirely on being plugged in, the TREBLAB offers up to 38 hours of playtime on a single charge, with some data suggesting average life could reach 45 hours depending on usage patterns. It charges via USB-C, reaching a full power state in just 2.5 hours. For a traveler or a student, this eliminates the constant anxiety of finding an outlet. Additionally, the inclusion of Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint connectivity means you can stay connected to your phone and laptop simultaneously. You can take a call on your phone while listening to a podcast on your computer, switching seamlessly between the two without disconnecting.
This product is ideal for anyone who spends time in noisy public spaces or wants a versatile headset for work, gaming, and workouts. The IPX4 sweat resistance rating makes it durable enough for intense gym sessions, and the included hard case protects it during transit. However, you might skip this if you are a purist who demands a purely analog signal path. The wireless nature introduces a small amount of latency (noted as 65ms in Gaming Mode), which, while fast, is still higher than a direct wired connection. It is a consumer electronics powerhouse, but it requires charging and battery management that the Hercules simply does not need.
• Best for Sound Isolation: Hercules HDP DJ45 wins on passive isolation. Its closed-back, circumaural design physically blocks sound, whereas TREBLAB relies on electronic cancellation which can vary in effectiveness.
• Best for Battery Life: TREBLAB Z7-Pro dominates here. With up to 38 to 45 hours of runtime, it outlasts any wired competitor that doesn't require power but requires you to manage a charging schedule.
• Best for Latency-Free Audio: Hercules HDP DJ45 is the choice for professionals. The wired connection guarantees zero delay, essential for beatmatching or real-time monitoring.
• Best for Travel and Commuting: TREBLAB Z7-Pro is superior due to its foldable design, compact hard case, and active noise cancellation that silences the world around you.
• Best for Connectivity Versatility: TREBLAB Z7-Pro takes the lead with Bluetooth 5.3 and multipoint pairing, allowing dual-device connections that the Hercules cannot support.
• Best for Durability in Performance: Hercules HDP DJ45 is built for the stage, featuring a robust spiral cable and pivoting earpieces designed for the physical demands of DJing.
• Best for Workout Safety: TREBLAB Z7-Pro offers IPX4 sweat resistance and a secure fit, making it safer for vigorous activity than the bulky, cable-dependent Hercules.
• Best Value for Daily Use: TREBLAB Z7-Pro provides more features per dollar for the average user, including a carrying case and advanced controls, whereas the Hercules is a specialized niche tool.
In my opinion, the TREBLAB Z7-Pro is the better purchase for 90% of people reading this comparison. The versatility of active noise cancellation combined with a week-long battery life solves problems that wired headphones simply cannot address in a modern context. I would personally buy the TREBLAB because the ability to block out chaos and switch to transparency mode with a tap makes it far more adaptable to daily life. However, if your job literally requires you to mix tracks in real-time or you hate the idea of ever charging a device, then the Hercules HDP DJ45 remains the undisputed champion for its specific trade. Remember, if you are specifically searching for best bluetooth earbuds for swimming or best headset for swimming, neither of these over-ear models is the right fit, as neither is rated for submersion.
No, neither the Hercules HDP DJ45 nor the TREBLAB Z7-Pro is rated for swimming. While the TREBLAB has IPX4 sweat resistance, it is not designed to be submerged in water, so you should look for a dedicated swim-specific device instead.
The 60-Ohm impedance suggests it can drive off most standard audio sources, but you may find the sound louder and richer if paired with a dedicated amplifier or a high-quality DAC, especially since it lacks active amplification.
Yes, the TREBLAB includes a 3.5mm AUX cable, allowing you to connect it to older laptops, TVs, or MP3 players that do not have Bluetooth capabilities, giving you a wired fallback option.
The TREBLAB actively cancels low-frequency droning noises like engines or AC units, while the Hercules relies on a physical seal to block mid-to-high frequencies. They work differently, and the TREBLAB is generally better for variable environments.
