If you want professional-grade sound isolation and a DJ-focused design with a spiral cable for performance, choose Hercules HDP DJ45; if you need all-day wireless freedom, massive battery life, and voice-optimized call clarity for your computer, choose Monster Mission 450.
• Hercules HDP DJ45: Best for DJs who need total noise isolation and flexible monitoring; the trade-off is that it is strictly wired and lacks modern wireless convenience.
• Monster Mission 450: Best for remote workers and gamers seeking a long-lasting wireless connection with clear voice calls; the trade-off is that it is an open-style listening experience rather than closed-back isolation.
• Choose Hercules HDP DJ45 if your primary setup involves mixing decks or requires heavy-duty, tangle-free cabling during active movement.
• Choose Monster Mission 450 if you are looking for ear clip headphones for computer use that allow you to move around without being tethered to a device.
The Hercules HDP DJ45 is built with a very specific purpose in mind: it is a tool for the performer. The design philosophy here centers on "closed-back" audio engineering, which means the earpieces completely encircle your ears. This circumaural design isn't just about style; it creates a physical barrier that keeps surrounding noise out while keeping your music locked inside. If you work in a noisy environment or need to hear the subtle nuances of a track without external interference, this level of sound isolation is critical. The ear cushions are soft and padded, resting against your head rather than pressing down on them, which suggests these can handle long sessions of intense focus without becoming painful.
What sets this model apart from standard consumer headphones is the cable system. Most wired headphones have a fixed cord that gets in the way, but the DJ45 features a single-sided spiral cable that extends from roughly 3.3 feet up to over 6.6 feet. This isn't just a longer wire; it's a functional piece of gear that frees up the user during performances. You can stretch it out when needed or let it coil back in for compact storage. The pivoting earpieces also rotate, allowing you to monitor one ear while leaving the other open—a technique essential for live mixing where you need to hear both the headphones and the room simultaneously.

However, this product is not for everyone. It is strictly a wired solution using a 3.5mm jack with an included adapter for 6.35mm connections. There is no Bluetooth, no battery, and no wireless flexibility. If you are looking for voice assistant gaming headphones for computer setups that require zero lag or absolute silence from the outside world, this might feel restrictive. It is a heavy-duty piece of equipment weighing 0.6 kg, designed for durability and function over portability. You should buy this if you are a DJ, an audio engineer, or someone who needs maximum isolation and doesn't mind managing a cable. Skip it entirely if you prioritize wireless freedom or plan to use it primarily for casual streaming without a dedicated mixer setup.
In contrast, the Monster Mission 450 is engineered for the modern, mobile lifestyle. Its core strength lies in its wireless capabilities and battery endurance. Powered by Bluetooth 5.4, this unit promises a faster and more stable connection than older standards, making it ideal for connecting to laptops, phones, or tablets without the hassle of dongles or cables. The standout feature here is the 60-hour battery life. For anyone who uses their computer for work, study, or gaming throughout the day, eliminating "battery anxiety" is a game-changer. You can charge it once a week and still have power to spare, which is a significant advantage over typical 20-to-30-hour competitors.
The design focuses heavily on comfort and communication. The earpieces are made from skin-friendly PU leather with elastic sponge padding, ensuring they fit securely without causing pressure points. The adjustable headband and 60-degree rotating earmuffs mean it can adapt to almost any head shape. But beyond music, this headphone shines in communication. It features two microphones paired with an AI algorithm designed to detect and amplify your voice while reducing background noise. This makes it a prime candidate for open ear earbuds for computer users who attend virtual meetings, participate in Discord calls, or stream content where voice clarity is paramount.
This product fits the profile of the remote worker or the casual gamer who wants high-quality sound without the clutter of wires. It supports three EQ modes—Voice, Classical, and Jazz—allowing you to tune the audio output specifically to your current activity. However, because it prioritizes wireless utility and call clarity, it does not offer the same level of passive noise isolation as the Hercules. If you need to block out a loud construction site or a chaotic office, the Monster might not seal out sound as effectively as the closed-back Hercules. It is the perfect choice if you value mobility, long battery life, and crystal-clear calls over absolute acoustic isolation.
• Best for Sound Isolation: Hercules HDP DJ45 wins hands down due to its closed-back, circumaural design that physically blocks external noise.
• Best for Wireless Freedom: Monster Mission 450 is the only option here with Bluetooth 5.4, letting you disconnect from your PC or phone entirely.
• Best for Battery Life: Monster Mission 450 offers a massive 60-hour playtime, whereas the Hercules relies on a continuous wired connection with no battery.
• Best for Live Performance/Mixing: Hercules HDP DJ45 is superior with its single-sided spiral cable and rotating earpieces for one-ear monitoring.
• Best for Voice Calls: Monster Mission 450 includes dual mics and AI noise cancellation to ensure your voice comes through clearly on video conferences.
• Best Value for Durability: Hercules HDP DJ45 uses metal and plastic components designed for rugged, daily handling in professional settings.
• Best for Comfort During Long Sessions: Both offer soft padding, but the Monster's 60° rotation and lighter weight distribution may suit casual desktop use better.
• Best for Computer Gaming: While both work, the Hercules is better for competitive immersion via isolation, while the Monster is better for team chat via AI mic tech.
If I were buying a pair of headphones today for my computer setup, I would choose the Monster Mission 450. The combination of Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity and a 60-hour battery life simply changes how I interact with my workspace. I don't want to be tethered to my desk, and I certainly don't want to worry about charging my device every night. The AI-enhanced microphone technology ensures that my voice cuts through during calls, which is something the Hercules cannot offer. While the Hercules is a fantastic tool for a DJ booth, the Monster Mission 450 is the more versatile companion for general computing, offering the balance of deep bass, clear voice, and true wireless freedom that modern users demand.
Yes, both models connect to computers. The Hercules uses a wired 3.5mm jack (with a 1/4" adapter), while the Monster uses Bluetooth 5.4 for a wireless link, though it also includes a 3.5mm jack for wired use.
They do not have active electronic noise cancellation, but they provide excellent passive noise isolation thanks to their closed-back design and thick, soft ear cushions.
According to the specifications, the Monster Mission 450 provides up to 60 hours of average battery life on a full charge, significantly reducing the need for frequent recharging.
Yes, the Monster Mission 450 features three distinct EQ modes—Voice, Classical, and Jazz—that you can cycle through using a dedicated button to match your listening preference.
