Henry Dakin

Hi, I’m Henry. I’m currently working on my PhD at the Technische Universität Chemnitz in Germany, under Christian Sevenheck. I work in algebraic geometry and complex geometry. Specifically, my research involves D-modules and the applications of this theory to the Hodge theory of divisor complements. Mixed Hodge modules and singularity theory play a large role in the background of this field. Classes of divisors I have especial interest in are free divisors, tame divisors and hyperplane arrangements.

I am also interested in mirror symmetry, tropical geometry, algebraic stacks and moduli theory, quiver varieties, Lie theory and algebraic groups, birational geometry and derived algebraic geometry. Also quantum mechanics and quantum field theory! Although I don’t claim to be an expert in any of these areas.

I helped organise a reading group called "Tropical Geometry and Mirror Symmetry" in the Summer Semester of 2023. I am on the organising committee for the conference "GAeL XXXI" that will take place in June 2024 in Turin, Italy.
