If you want a durable, tangle-free wired solution for short commutes and travel on devices with headphone jacks, choose Hemobllo Retractable; if you need long battery life, modern connectivity, and situational awareness for work or workouts, choose Cyberix Open Ear.
• Hemobllo Retractable: Its greatest strength is the retractable, tangle-free design that fits in a coin purse, but it is limited to wired 3.5mm connections only.
• Cyberix Open Ear: It offers an impressive 60-hour battery life and open-ear comfort for safety, though it lacks noise isolation and requires Bluetooth pairing.
• Who picks Hemobllo: Ideal for travelers, students, or anyone who wants a backup pair of earbuds that never gets tangled in a bag.
• Who picks Cyberix: Perfect for professionals working in open offices, runners, or users who demand all-day wireless freedom without battery anxiety.
The Hemobllo Retractable wired earbuds are built around the simple but often overlooked problem of cable management. In my experience reviewing various audio gear, nothing is more frustrating than pulling a tangled mess of wires out of a pocket after a week in a backpack. These headphones solve that immediately with their dual-pull retractable cord system. You simply pull from either end to extend the wire to your desired length, and the mechanism locks it in place until you are ready to store it again. This design makes them exceptionally portable, measuring just 12 x 3 x 1.2cm. They are small enough to slip into a jacket pocket, a small pouch, or even a coin purse without adding any noticeable bulk.
For someone looking for the best wireless earbuds for work who happens to rely on older devices or specific equipment like MP3 players, these are a practical choice. The gold-plated 3.5mm plug ensures universal compatibility with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and even airplane entertainment systems. While many modern headsets focus solely on Bluetooth, there is still a significant market of commuters and students who prefer the reliability of a physical connection that doesn't require charging or suffer from signal dropouts. The ergonomic in-ear fit with soft rubber earplugs provides a snug seal, which helps block out ambient noise—a feature that can be crucial when trying to focus during a flight or a busy train ride.

However, this product is not for everyone. If you are someone who needs "spatial audio open ear headphones for work" to stay aware of your surroundings while collaborating in an office, the closed-back, in-ear design of the Hemobllo might feel isolating. Furthermore, because they are wired, you are tethered to your device. The lack of Bluetooth means you cannot use them with newer phones that have removed the headphone jack without an adapter. The package includes three pairs, which is excellent for sharing with family or keeping spares in different locations like the car or the office, but the technology itself is dated compared to modern standards. It is a tool for simplicity and reliability rather than cutting-edge features.
The Cyberix Open Ear wireless earbuds take a completely different approach, focusing on freedom, battery longevity, and situational awareness. These are designed for the user who needs to hear the world around them while enjoying music or taking calls. The open-ear design leaves the ear canal clear, which is essential for safety during outdoor activities like running or cycling, and equally important for professionals who need to hear colleagues walking by in a shared workspace. The clip-on style sits securely on the ear, utilizing a titanium alloy enclosure that promises durability while remaining lightweight. This construction ensures they stay in place even during vigorous movement or light rain, thanks to their sweat-resistant and waterproof capabilities.
Battery life is where this model truly shines for daily work scenarios. With up to 60 hours of total playtime when paired with the charging case, and a single charge lasting 48 hours, you are effectively eliminating the daily anxiety of finding a charger. Most competitors in this space struggle to offer more than 20 or 30 hours, so this capacity is a massive advantage for those with long shifts or frequent travel. The Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity ensures a stable link with a range of up to 30 feet, allowing you to move freely around your desk or home without losing connection. The touch controls make navigation intuitive, letting you manage playback and calls without reaching for your phone.
One standout feature that adds unexpected utility for the modern worker is the LED touchscreen on the charging case. This full-color display allows you to adjust brightness, change wallpapers, and even use the flashlight directly from the case. There is also a remote shutter function that lets you control your phone's camera to take photos, which is a fun bonus for capturing moments without fumbling with your device. However, the open design means you will not get the passive noise cancellation of in-ear buds. If you work in a very loud environment like a factory floor or a noisy airport gate, the ambient sound will mix with your audio. But for the average office worker or commuter who values hearing traffic and conversations, this trade-off is a necessary and beneficial one.
• Best for battery life → Cyberix Open Ear with its 60-hour total capacity versus the infinite power of the wired Hemobllo, provided you have a charged source nearby.
• Best for portability and storage → Hemobllo Retractable due to its ultra-compact size and tangle-free retractable mechanism that fits anywhere.
• Best for situational awareness → Cyberix Open Ear as the open-ear design keeps your ears unblocked for safety and communication.
• Best for device compatibility (older tech) → Hemobllo Retractable since the 3.5mm jack works with almost anything, unlike the Bluetooth-only Cyberix.
• Best for active use → Cyberix Open Ear because of its sweat resistance and secure clip-on fit, whereas the wired Hemobllo can snag during movement.
• Best for value in quantity → Hemobllo Retractable as it comes with a 3-pack, giving you multiple pairs for different uses or family members.
• Best for smart features → Cyberix Open Ear offering an LED touchscreen case, flashlight, and remote camera control that the wired option cannot match.
• Best for noise isolation → Hemobllo Retractable using the in-ear seal to block out external distractions better than the open Cyberix design.
In my opinion, for the vast majority of people seeking the best wireless headset for work, the Cyberix Open Ear is the superior choice. The combination of 60-hour battery life, Bluetooth 5.4 stability, and the open-ear design creates a seamless workflow that accommodates both focused listening and environmental awareness. While the Hemobllo Retractable is a clever, reliable tool for specific situations like air travel or backup use, the Cyberix offers a modern, wireless lifestyle that reduces clutter and anxiety about charging. I would buy the Cyberix for daily professional use because it adapts to my schedule rather than requiring me to adapt to a cable.
The Cyberix Open Ear is designed for open environments and will let you hear colleagues, but it does not block noise. The Hemobllo Retractable offers better isolation due to its in-ear fit, making it potentially better for blocking out chatter if you need deep focus.
The Cyberix Open Ear offers up to 48 hours of continuous playtime on a single charge, extending to 60 hours total when used with the included charging case, ensuring you rarely need to recharge during a standard work week.
Only if your specific iPhone model has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Most modern iPhones do not include this port, so you would need a separate Lightning-to-3.5mm adapter to use the wired Hemobllo earbuds.
Yes, the Cyberix features a secure ear-clip design made from titanium alloy that is sweat-resistant and stays put during running or gym sessions, even in light rain conditions.
