Convert any file imaginable right in your browser
The next time you find yourself needing to convert a file into a different type of file, skip the clunky apps and make your way over to an exceptional web app called MConverter.
➜ MConverter lets you convert practically any file type into any other type of file your beautiful brain desires. So, for instance, you might transform an AVI video into a more universally compatible MP4 file. Or maybe you'd change a FLAC audio file into a regular ol' MP3.
You could go from PDF to JPG, DOC to PDF, or whatever other combo comes along in your online adventures.
Unlike most tools designed for this purpose, MConverter is simple, speedy, and pleasant to use — and it's reputable, too, with a firm focus on privacy and security.
It's also totally free, with a reasonable limit of one file conversion at a time, 10 file conversions per day, and 200MB per file converted.
If you need more than that, you can opt for a premium upgrade (which is how the company behind the site makes its money) but for most ordinary users the free tier should be plenty.
All it takes is a couple quick taps to turn the site into an app that'll live on your home screen and act like any other tool on your phone — or your computer, even! — without all of the usual baggage.

Trackpad
If you use a track-pad on your laptop you may find it takes a while to get used to it. Controlling the cursor with these devices can prove very sensitive - best just persevere and you'll get there.
When using the track-pad you also need to be familiar with any actions that would normally be activated by the physical buttons on a conventional mouse.
If you're not sure about the laptop's capabilities then consult it's manual - if you don't have a manual handy you can search for one for your model online and download it.
Sometimes there are defined areas that work as logical buttons adjacent to the track-pad area that mimic the action of clicking the buttons on a mouse.
On other devices the track-pad may also respond to two sharp clicks on it's main surface. These work in the same way as a single left click or a single right click.
It's also possibly also have a sensitive area down one side of the trck-pad that works in the same way as a scroll wheel found on some mice.
Mouse
If you just can't get the hang of using the track-pad you could consider plugging in a conventional mouse and using that instead.
If you use a mouse but find your suffer with unwanted actions by accidentally brushing the surface of the trackpad then if you're a Windows user you could try installing a free "Touchpad Blocker" [click here to open download page in a new tab] which allows you to type as normal but temporarily locks the unwanted mouse events.
If you get stuck because of a forgotten or compromised password then follow the steps below to reset your device’s password.
This can avoid you from either having to carry out a ‘factory reset’ on your mobile device or perhaps a full ‘reinstallation’ of the entire operating system on your computer.
Both of the above solutions are tedious and time consuming and can easily lead to the loss of your personal data if it has not been properly backed up to another device / disc drive or even better to a secure location ‘in the cloud’ !!
