Perhaps that city was a beacon of hope, a testament to humanity's resilience and indomitable spirit.
The Sanctum, also known as the heart of the liberation, is the revered city that opens its arms for the ones in need for their protection and provides weekly rations and necessities for one to survive the cruel world. Though I notice how it has more limitations when it comes to businesses combined with a stricter time curfews, it is still indeed a peaceful and tranquil city that succeeds to provide a safe haven from the horrors of the apocalypse, daresay a paradise-like haven reminiscent of the biblical Garden of Eden. I look forward to witnessing the day humanity will truly rise from the ruins of this world.

The Central Plains contains the Stronghold, the Sanctum.
This region was once a forgotten kingdom of ages past, its grand castle standing in eerie solitude at the northernmost point, surrounded by rows of empty houses, buildings, and a town square, and six abandoned villages to the south. The area had been barren for centuries, with sparse vegetation and no towering trees, offering little interest until the apocalypse arrived. Ironically, its desolation became its strength—its lack of dense flora and vegetation meant fewer dangers compared to other regions, giving it a higher survivability rate. In time, a group of survivors claimed the land and transformed it into the stronghold now known as the Sanctum.
Around the region include grassy plains, flowerfields, and a handful of dense forests that are usually patrolled by Officers, for safety, foraging, and monitoring alike. It likewise contains some bodies of waters, like lakes and rivers, and small hills at the outskirts of the region. Before the reveal of the world of HoE, this was where, assumably, all interactions, which necessitated a natural location, between the HoECs had happened.
The last thriving place in the world, with nearly all survivors seeking refuge within its fortified walls. Established by the Liberation nearly a year into the apocalypse, it defied the odds and flourished amidst widespread destruction. Today, it governs six thriving cities, each specializing in different aspects of survival, as survivors from neighboring kingdoms brought their unique skills. While the houses and even the main castle were built during a historical era, technological advancements have been seamlessly integrated, making the exteriors appear ancient while the interiors boast modern design and functionality. Revered as the Stronghold, the Sanctum is regarded as the only livable place left on Earth by many people. However, its prosperity makes it a frequent target of attacks from creatures, especially given the dense population of human survivors it now protects.
