A national effort, ReEntry Services assists former prisoners in the process of turning their lives around. As a former U.S. Army Officer, Jackson understands the difficulty faced in returning to the civilian workforce. Though her own story may be different from those of the ReEntry Services participants, she feels personally connected to their struggles.

Heather Jackson is the youngest active member of her local church’s Vestry. Similar to a board of directors, members of the Vestry are largely responsible for voting on how the church will manage its budget. Very much for the people, Vestry membership is determined by voting. A member must be voted in by all three services of the church’s congregation. The responsibility is a three year commitment, which Jackson is proud to take on.
As a Vestry member, Heather Jackson is directly involved in the church’s charitable efforts. Once a month, the church comes together to cook breakfast for the Union Gospel Mission. The food is then hand-delivered, adding an even more personal touch to the initiative. In the future, Jackson hopes to participate in more efforts that work to feed those in need.
