ROBIN WATSON

robin was born 1956 in pittsburgh to marlene and hank dunne. she had two brothers who were both older than her. throughout her childhood, her dad was a piece of shit. she didn't remember much of it though. her dad left when she was two, graham was four and billy was eight.

because she didn't have a father most of her life, she always closer to her mom than she was to her brothers. they were both old enough when her dad left that they had each other. billy felt responsible for graham and robin, but because he was closer in age to graham they spent more time together. robin learned to play guitar because graham taught her but it wasn’t really her thing.

she was girly growing up. she loved movies and makeup and clothes but they couldn’t afford much of them. she liked to play with her mom's makeup until she was old enough to have her own. when she was a teenager she did friends makeup for prom and events to make money. when she turned sixteen, she got a job at the makeup counter in the department store in town. by then her brothers and their band were already famous. people around town knew who they were and by extension knew who she was. she was proud of them, of course, but it was a lot. people at school even tried to befriend her to get to her brothers. she changed her last name to her mother's maiden name ‘watson’ when she turned 18. 

although robin tried to put some distance publicly between herself and her brother's band. she did care for them. she loved watching band practices, even when they were dramatic. she never understood how making music worked. she was creative, but she couldn't write a song to save her life. robin adored camila from the moment she met her, thought she was perfect. robin liked karen too. she even grew to like daisy despite, or maybe because of, her brother's protests. she knew every word to every song the dunne brothers, the six and daisy jones and the six ever performed. 

being her brother's biggest fan didn't mean she understood their life though. she didn't find out about the depth of billy's addiction until he was in rehab. she felt awful for not noticing and frustrated that she couldn't help.

in 1976, robin moved to los angles to try her hand at becoming a makeup artist. she worked smaller jobs like independent movies and tv pilots until she got a job as an assistant makeup artist on a night time talk show. that paid enough for her to start taking courses with a working sfx artist. she got her first job on a horror movie set because of those classes.
