PHILOSOPHY

PERSONA jules is a kind and quiet teenager. she’s not the type to care much about gossip or say an unkind thing about or to anyone. she’s actually quite awkward and the only people she’s really comfortable with are her family and her closest friends. she’s a cheerleader which affords her a certain amount of popularity, but she’s only on the squad because her mom was a cheerleader as well. jules is a people pleaser and doesn’t often do things because they’re what she wants to do. she’d much rather make someone else happy than herself. she ‘s intelligent and works hard for her grades. she loves to read and listen to music. she’s an introvert through and through. she’s unafraid to show emotion, but would do anything to avoid someone knowing that she has a crush on them if she does. she’s the baby of the family and hence is quite sheltered which reflects in her personality and self expression. she does enjoy listening to and making music and though she usually listens to what’s popular, she does secretly listen to her brother’s rock music as well.

BIOGRAPHY

julia ‘jules’ miller was the second child of elaine and andrew miller. she had an elder brother ken who’s a year and half older than her and was born in a suburb of detroit michigan on may 6th, 1965. she and her older brother were born into a wealthy family and spent a large portion of their childhood raised by a nanny. jules was always the model child, much to her elder brother’s chagrin. she never put up much of a fuss and did as she was told, often unintentionally making her brother look bad. even so, because of how close they were in age, she and ken were very close growing up.

when ken became friends with daniel desario in elementary school, they grew apart a little bit because of the fact that daniel was older than ken and convinced him not to hang around with his little sister so much. even so, jules continued to look up to ken. she didn’t like daniel very much until she started making her own friends and had a close circle of girls at school to hang out with. when she entered high school the year after ken and crushes became the only thing jules’ friends ever wanted to talk about, jules started to realise she had a crush on daniel, not that she’d ever tell him. in fact, she didn’t tell anyone, she just ignored it whenever crushes were brought up. she didn’t really like any of the guys in her grade (although she did also start to realise she liked some of the girls, which she also didn’t talk about).

in school, jules was a good student, and excelled in her classes. occasionally she needed her elder brother’s help to study, which she had to beg for, but he’d usually give in.

ken had found himself in the freak crowd, with the burnouts in the school. this disappointed their parents and made jules ‘the example’ much to both ken and jules’ distaste. again this drove a wedge between the siblings.

although jules was relatively normal and could even go as far as to be classified as popular (she made it onto the cheer squad sophomore year for god’s sake) jules never looked down on her brother or his friends. sure, she didn’t approve of everything they did, but they could be far more fun than her friends and occasionally she’d hang out with them when ken let her or he couldn’t do anything to stop her.
