SAVANNAH HAYES

savannah hayes was born on january 5th, 1999 to david and lana hayes of sacramento california. her mother was a dentist native to the area and her father was a hockey coach from michigan. she had a brother already, older than her by three years.

she was raised in a comfortable two parent household. her parents were supportive of her interests from a young age. she liked fashion and collecting dolls. she and her brother both played hockey under her father's guidance. kendall loved it and wanted to go pro. savannah not so much. she enjoyed the game, but her interests lay elsewhere. sports weren't really her thing like they were her dad and brother's. the family still bonded over it by going to games, both professional and kendall's amateur games.

when she was fifteen, she started making little videos for herself. she modeled them after the videos she saw posted to youtube, but didn't show them to anyone or post them anywhere. she just talked about her daily life and showed her favorite things from the month. the videos weren't very good, but she was slowly getting better over time.

when savannah was seventeen, after her friends found out she was making videos, her friends encouraged her to start posting them to the internet. she made vlogs at school with her friends, and when she got her car she filmed her little errands and talked to the camera in her car. she told stories about her days, made jokes and talked about her dreams and interests.

slowly but surely savannah started gaining an audience. people liked listening to her talk and see her days. one viral video of her going on a road trip alone for the first time skyrocketed her from 1.5 thousand subscribers to 5 thousand. that number kept steadily climbing from then on. it was strange having that many eyes on her videos. her viewers watched her try matcha for the first time, watched her get into college and watched her leave the country for the first time.

she moved out at 18 when she went to attend college at loyal marymount university. her viewers watched her shop for and move into her dorm. she was going to attend LMU to be a psychologist. she had developed an interest in the subject matter while taking ap psychology in high school and hope to pursue a career in psychology. she continued on with her youtube channel while she was studying. she loved campus life and living in los angeles, she didn't love studying as much though. she always loved learning, but struggled to keep up in her classes. she didn't want to disappoint anyone and now that she had an audience she felt like she was disappointing her parents and them. at the end of the first year, savannah decided college and psychology weren't for her. she decided to start doing social media as her primary source of income.

by the time she dropped out of college, savannah had upwards of 10,000 followers. she was making money from her youtube channel and instagram by that point. her instagram page @itssavvyhayes was doing incredibly well. she got sponsorships from companies and it had become a viable career path. her parents were disappointed in her for dropping out, but they were proud she had built a career herself. she still kept her part time job at a bakery while she got herself settled in. she didn't want to put all her eggs in one basket. kendall had also made a career for himself playing hockey for notre dame university. both siblings were successful in their fields.

after college, savannah moved into her first apartment. of course she vlogged the whole experience from apartment hunting to shopping for decor to unpacking. living in la brought her a lot of new opportunities. she went to industry parties, made friends with other influencers her age and had much more to vlog about than she had in sacramento.

she kept her job at the bakery for a year after she moved into her own non college housing apartment. she just wanted to make sure she didn't make the wrong choice trying to make a career online. she had to quit the bakery, not because she wanted to, but because someone had found where she worked and posted her location online. she had a stalker and she didn't feel safe anymore. she moved apartments and her mom came down to la to live with her for a few months because she was scared. she was much more careful about how much information she posted about where she lived after that. eventually the police managed to catch her stalker and she got a restraining order.

savannah has since met the milestone of having over 5 million followers on youtube, about 4 million on tiktok and instagram. she began her own artisanal soda company named sav's sacramento pop inspired by her love of fizzy flavored drinks and her father's midwest heritage. when she grew up, her dad was always calling soda 'pop' and she always loved that. while the company is savannah's to run, her father helps her. she has gone to coachella multiple times, become a brand ambassador for valentino. she creates content full time, although her style has evolved from vlogs to longer form videos documenting her travel and the experiences she has had because of her channel.
