GABRIELLE GAO

gabrielle gao was born on the 27th of february 1995 to yuchen and elizabeth gao in sydney, australia. elizabeth was the daughter of a wealthy real estate mogul and yuchen ran the hong kong division of elizabeth's father's company paget development. they fell in love and married after courting for five years.

elizabeth gave birth to their daughter and named her gabrielle. elizabeth was highly religious and had her daughter baptized as soon as possible.

gabrielle spent her youth primarily in hong kong where her father was born and raised, however spent plenty of time in her mother's home country of australia. they summered there and gabrielle loved it there. she loved swimming and her mother started her on archery when she was eight. elizabeth had loved the sport and hoped her daughter would as well. she didn't love it from the start, but gabrielle had potential. she had a sharp mind and an eye that leant itself to patience and precision.

she grew interested in poisons at a young age when she learned that the seeds used in rosary beads were highly poisonous. this interest in poisons lead to and interest in chemistry, but she didn't act on it after one incident. she ground up one of the rosary peas and put it in a water dish to disolve. she waited until something drank from it and watched it die. it was a rabbit and she hated every second of it. the rabbit didn't deserve it. she never wanted to hurt animals again and thought that would be the end of it.

gabrielle attended the elite all girls catholic school sydney holy cross academy starting from age eleven. it was a boarding school, but she saw her mother and her family often enough seeing as they lived in the area. she was the top of her class and especially skilled in chemistry. she was on the swim team, and although she would have been an asset to the archery team, she didn't join. she preferred to keep her archery as a hobby. she also took up muay thai and later judo, despite the fact that it did not make her popular. people were afraid of her in school, she wasn't only wealthy, but she was tough as nails and had the training to beat up anyone that crossed her. gabrielle was odd according to many people, but once you earned her respect she was incredibly loyal. she had a small circle of close friends and despite being a bit of a rebel, the nuns liked her. she was a legacy and she always showed to chapel on time.

gabrielle graduated from holy cross and instead of attending university as planned she took on a different path. she began dabbling in poisons again. the year after she graduated, mari lorenzo, a girl in the year below her's died of poisoning. gabrielle used rosary pea seeds in her tea. it didn't happen right away, but took three days. all the while the girl experienced vomiting, seizures and eventually organ failure. her death was slow and by the time she died gabrielle was in new york for fashion week. there was no one that could place her as the one who served mari the tea. she did it because she'd leaked the nudes of gabby's best friend netty. netty wouldn't do anything about it so, gabby did.

after that, gabby decided that she had found her calling. sure, she had to refine her method and make it faster, but she'd get to keep living large and it didn't require her to go to uni. it took some work to find jobs, but for the right price there were plenty of people who wanted other's poisoned and weren't willing to do the job themselves. gabby found that it was better to vary the format of the poison used.

gabby's mom died when she was twenty. elizabeth was killed in a deliberate hit and in return, gabby's father hired a killer to track down and kill whoever had killed elizabeth. gabby took the job. it took time, but she was determined to find them and she did. that was the first job she did where she left behind what would become her signature, a rosary. when she delivered the proof to the one who hired her, her father recognized that it was her who'd done the job. surprisingly, he wasn't angry just surprised. she confessed to him that she'd been a hired killer since she left school. it took some time, an adjustment period, but yuchen allowed her to continue on one condition, it never traced back to their family. after all, she made something of herself, wasn't that what he had always wanted for his daughter?

she took more and more jobs, and found her style. the abrin (the poison from the rosary peas) became a part of the job, but it wasn't always all of it. she began using other methods to kill her marks, as long as it got the job done according to the job's description. she became known as rosary or the rosary killer depending on what sources one went to.

she was found out by one other person and that was a former assassin turned handler named tanya. tanya posed as a reporter who wanted to interview gabrielle, instead she cornered her and offered her a job with her agency. tanya insisted she was better off with her rather than on her own and despite gabrielle's hesitance she eventually agreed. she moved to london to be farther away from her family and closer to the jobs. she couldn't be flying from australia every time she needed to do a job out of the country.

thus began gabrielle's partnership with her new handler, tanya. there was some push and pull between them, tanya was incredibly quirky and a bit outlandish. a real oddball, but once gabby grew to trust her and trust that she wasn't going to sell her out or get her shit jobs, she respected her and they'd grown to care about each other.

gabrielle made a concerted effort to keep up appearances as a jet setting heiress after she became a killer for hire and continues to do so. to the best of the public's knowledge she is just a wealthy nepo baby who attends fashion shows and maintains her instagram meticulously.
