Hermeneutics: The Basics
How comfortable are you preparing to speak each week to your congregation or class? Sure, there are resources all around that might guide your discussion, but what if you need to step off script? Are you just as comfortable when this happens? If this touches close to home, don’t fret.
First, if God as called you, He has equipped you.
Second, there are other opportunities available which might also be useful in your preparation. Whatever you do, don’t forget the first.
So, here’s an opportunity for you to consider. We’ll be holding a basic hermeneutics overview over the next four months that might intrigue you. Starting second Saturdays in September (Sept 14th, Oct 12th, Nov 9th and Dec 14th) 9 AM to Noon, with breakfast fellowship at 8:30 AM in the HBA Conference Room, 108 W 3rd St, Lawson, MO 64062.
RSVP preferred to Bob Snyder, cell (816) 516-5771, or revbobsnyder@gmail.com While there are no require texts or preparation, grabbing a copy of Living by the Book by Howard and William Hendricks may be a useful conversation starter. The QR Code below will link you to the book at Amazon.com. Oh, but do bring at least one translation of the Bible and something with which you might take notes.
This year’s Baptist Secretaries & Administrative Assistants of Missouri (BSAAM) conference on September 16th – 17th will be held in St. Joseph, MO. This is a wonderful time of fellowship, worship, breakout sessions, and speakers. There is also a time for Association Administrative Assistance to network and discuss struggles in one room.
If you would like to attend, the MBC Associational Leader (DOM) Liaison office will reimburse the conference fee. You can find the membership and conference forms at https://www.baamissouri.org/.
Once you have registered, please fill out the google form to request your reimbursement. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScp0TqnGxKjbaXRuVIgxS-82TULvrBRSlvx0311G-uW1IPn9g/viewform
