Heart of the Forest Music Program is now offering Rock Band classes for ages 8 & up! Small-group classes offer both individualized musical instruction in specific instruments and group play time where students learn to listen and collaborate to play songs they like as a real band. Instruments offered include guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. We keep class sizes small to ensure a specialized program for each child to meet his or her needs and abilities. 

Location: Classes are taught at our property in Ensley near I-10 Exit 7.

Tuition/Fees: 

• 9-Week Session: $350 for 18 lessons, twice a week (less than $20 each)

(Fee for each 30-minute lesson is $20 if paid indivually)  

• We are an approved provider for Florida's Step Up for Students and Personalized Education Program (PEP).

Class Activities:

• 10 Min - Music rudiments & fundamentals (specialized individual instruction)

• 10 Min - Applying rudiments to learning song parts (individual and small group instruction)

• 10 Min - Band Jam - everyone practices songs together (group instruction) 

Skills:

• Life Skills / Professionalism Skills: collaboration, communication, problem-solving, focus, persistence, resilience

• Reading and Literacy Skills: reading and interpreting music and lyrics, writing songs with rhythm/rhyme, story-telling, listening, communicating

• Math Skills: rhythm, tempo, reading music and notation

Current Class Schedule (subject to availabilty):

• Mondays & Wednesdays, 3 - 3:30, 4-4:30, 5-5:30, 6-6:30pm

• Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4-4:30, 5-5:30, 6-6:30pm
