In recent years, Uttar Pradesh has seen significant improvements in its healthcare sector under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. His government has prioritized enhancing medical facilities, particularly for rural areas, and has made substantial investments in healthcare infrastructure and services.
Enhancing medical infrastructure
Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership, Uttar Pradesh has become a leader in medical education and infrastructure. Currently, the state has over 65 operational medical colleges, with an additional 22 medical colleges under the construction. This initiative is part of the 'One District One Medical College' scheme, which aims to expand the advanced healthcare closer to people in every district.
Investments in healthcare
The Yogi government has allotted a budget of more than 20,000 crores to develop the medical sector. Of this, over 17,325 crores have been allocated to medical and health services and list of health schemes in Uttar Pradesh, while 2,837 crores 39 lakhs have been set aside for medical education. This substantial investment tells about the government's commitment to improve healthcare accessibility and quality across the state.
Recognizing the importance of rural healthcare, the government has allocated 12,631 crores for programs under the National Rural Health Mission. The objective of this initiative is to provide complete health services to the most vulnerable sections of society, making sure that quality healthcare reaches even the remotest corners of Uttar Pradesh.
Giving push to Ayush & health tourism
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has time and again put emphasis on the significance of Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) in promoting health tourism and generating employment opportunities. The inauguration of the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University shows how the government is committed to integrate traditional healthcare systems with modern medical practices, promoting new areas for employment and tourism.
Rejuvenation of homeopathic medical colleges
Along with the other health schemes in Uttar Pradesh the Yogi government has also focused on supporting homeopathy infrastructure across the state. Government has allocated grants for the establishments & rejuvenation of homeopathic homeopathic medical colleges. This initiative aims to broaden the reach of alternative medical systems and improve healthcare choices for the people of Uttar Pradesh.
Various vaccination campaigns for preventable diseases
The goveremnst has acceleratd efforts to protech the children from preventalble diseases for which a successful vaccination campaign achieving a coverage rate of 98.4% for children. Vaccinations are provided free of cost in all the government hospitals, targeting diseases such as polio, tetanus, tuberculosis, and pneumonia.
