What if the same kind of fortified, shelf-stable meals used by the World Food Programme, UNICEF, and Rise Against Hunger could be adapted — not just for emergencies — but for everyday life?
The meals already exist.
They just aren’t available to the general public.
Can we change that?
The Vision: A $0.35 Meal That…
– Lasts 1 to 5 years without refrigeration
– Is nutritionally complete, not just empty calories
– Is craveable, not just tolerable
– Is sold in everyday places: convenience stores, schools, markets, grocery store shelves
The Approach
We take what already works, make practical adjustments for retail— taste, shelf appeal, price point—and bring it to market at $1 for a full day’s nutrition—three complete meals.
This isn’t about reinventing the wheel.
It’s about unlocking what already works at scale—and making it slightly cheaper, tastier, and ready for the shelf.
If we get it right, this could become the default meal for people on the edge of hunger, time, or affordability.
The economic and health impact—for low-income families and the broader public—could be tremendous.
The Model
A Public Benefit Corporation lets us bring market forces to bear—scale, efficiency, and distribution—while staying mission-focused.
No need for a crisis. No need for a nonprofit to hand it out. Just walk in and buy it.
This isn’t theoretical.
The product exists. The need is massive.
Making it appealing isn’t trivial, but the benefits justify a large effort.
The infrastructure is in place. The ingredients are known.
All that’s left is to treat nutrition like the essential product it is—and bring it to the people who need it, everywhere.
What We’re Looking For
This is just a concept — We’re not building anything yet.
We’re trying to ask the right questions, refining the vision, and looking for people who see the potential.
If this idea resonates with you—whether you bring expertise, sharp questions, or bold perspective—we’d love to talk.
We’re especially open to connecting with someone who can help think through what comes next: operational models, partnerships, or even just better questions.
We’d also welcome a backer who believes in bold bets—someone willing to help us move from concept to pilot.
Feedback is welcome.
Collaboration is better.
