Cooking Up Science: Edible Experiments

Calling all lovers of science and food! Science enrichment is taking on a new spin with "cooking up science." Grab your chef's hat, your test tubes and let's get to experimenting. Together we will explore the intersection of science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics and of course cooking! We will learn about and experiment with carbonation as we make fizzing lemonade, solutions as we make dressing, and DNA as we extract it from our fruit smoothies. We will have fun with solar power as we make s'mores, ratios as we make edible marshmallow slime, and saturation as we create our own rock candy. Along the way we will work together, make hypotheses, and learn the power of observation. 

All students in grades TK-5 are welcome!
