Animation Exploration

We had so much fun making movies that we wanted to try our hand at the animated variety! Join us as we explore different elements of animation. We will learn how the process has transformed over time and create projects from each era including phanekistoscope wheels, stop motion videos of clay characters, sound effects that match visuals in the form of foley arts, hand animation drawings of our own cartoon characters with different expressions, flip books and more! We will watch classic, animated shorts in order to get inspiration and see how it's done. Along the way we will discuss how math, writing and science are all an important part of the animation process.

All students in grades TK-5 are welcome!
