Hands on Art

"Art is something that makes you breathe with a different kind of happiness." -Anni Albers

In this class, students will learn about different artistic periods throughout history and the famous artists within each period. They’ll “travel” to the artists’ home country, learning about their inspiration and contribution to the artistic world. After putting themselves in the minds of the artist, students will recreate a famous work of art while exploring different techniques and mediums. Each class will have a historical and biographical element all while allowing students to channel their creativity and access their artistic sides.

Units of study include impression, modernism, and surrealism, while highlighting artists such as Salvador Dali, Monet, Georgia O’Keeffe and more!
