Our group exists at the interface of light and matter. We engineer hybrid systems that fuse two-dimensional quantum materials with nanophotonic structures to create exciton-polaritons — quasiparticles that are half-light and half-matter. By sculpting subwavelength photonic environments, we unlock emerging topological and quantum polaritonic phenomena with the potential to reshape the landscape of optical computing and quantum information processing. Through a powerful blend of predictive theory, advanced nanofabrication, and ultrafast spectroscopy, we capture and control these exotic states with femtosecond and nanometer resolution.
