If pairing does not work for you, see the Backup Solution section at the bottom of this page to learn how to create mobile wallpaper packages (.mpkg) and how to import them on your mobile device.

In the Windows app, click on the Mobile button in the upper right corner of the user interface. The mobile device overview will open up. At the bottom device overview, click on the Connect new Device button. Wallpaper Engine will show you a 4-digit PIN that you can use to pair one mobile device in the next step.

In the Wallpaper Engine mobile companion app, click on Add in the lower right corner, followed by clicking on Pair with Computer. The Wallpaper Engine app will search your local network for running instances of Wallpaper Engine for Windows. Your Windows computer should appear after a few seconds, allowing you to connect to it by clicking on it. If you are connecting for the first time, you will be asked to enter the 4-digit PIN (see Windows section above).

Once you have entered your PIN, the status bar in the mobile app turns green and shows which computer its connected to. On the Windows app, the Mobile button is also colored green now to indicate that a mobile connection is active.

Dynamic and interactive wallpapers that are of the Scene type will first be optimized for use on mobile phones and to ensure compatibility with mobile hardware. This process may take a short while. You will also be asked which quality option you would like to use, especially for high-resolution wallpapers, we recommend trying the Balanced option if you notice performance issues on your mobile device.

You can personalise your device by setting your own wallpaper. Your device includes a selection of wallpapers to choose from, or you can use one of the photos or videos you've taken or downloaded. On some devices you can even choose to set a wallpaper that changes each time you use your device.

Hello, this is Daniela from the mobile product team. I wanted to share that we have released a new and improved experience for using wallpapers on your mobile Firefox app. We have improved how we download and store wallpapers so that your experience is seamless and easy, as well as improved the readability against the homepage text.

I would love to hear how you feel about the improvements and new wallpapers or any general feedback.

Do you have a favourite new wallpaper?

Is there a wallpaper design you would like to see in the future?

Dont know if its related to wallpapers itself, but now my Android (11) status bar on top has white icons on white background when using Firerox (light system theme, Firefox set to follow system theme or explicitly light theme). This started with 106 update.

I feel wallpapers are aliens ..it changes the background but everything else looks weird like the color of other elements like the toolbar , text color etc does not match with the wallpapers. Instead of this you people could had implemented firefox colorways with a fixed set of themes which on using would had changed the background color along with toolbar color..the experience in both firefox mobile and desktop should be same! Another thing is collection which is not available in desktop and worst part in mobile is it does not get sync!

The new wallpapers look good, although - as SheikhAzharuddi stated - they are a bit detached from the rest of the UI. I think that a feature that would get the dominant colors of a given background image and from this information generate a new color palette for buttons, toolbar etc. could greatly improve the overall cohesiveness of the browser. It would be even more amazing, if it were possible to set custom images and utilize such functionality to have a truly unique experience.

I'm also not sure what the "limited edition" means in the context of the new wallpapers. Are they going to disappear? Will they remain available to people who use them before a given date? This seems a bit like an artificial scarcity issue.

Really nice idea with the wallpapers, I just feel they need to be better integrated with the UI overall, and it would be great if we could preview them in a faster way, for example, seeing how the UI would look like directly in the wallpaper selection menu.

To set videos as live wallpapers on an Android device, you'll need to install a third-party app like Video to Wallpaper. The app is quite simple to use, and I'm sure most of you will be able to figure out the process by yourself. But if you face any issues, here's a quick overview of how you can use it to set any video as a live wallpaper on your phone:

The live wallpaper should now appear on your homescreen and/or lockscreen based on your selection. You can follow the same steps to change the live wallpaper whenever you please. All the live wallpapers you pick in step 4 will appear on the app's homescreen for easy access, so you'll be able to switch between them without following steps 2 and 3 every time.

Video to Wallpaper is one of the simplest apps you can use to set videos as live wallpapers on your Android phone. I picked it over the other apps mentioned below for one simple reason: It's ad-free. If you're looking for an app that offers more controls and customization options or is easier to use, you should check out the alternatives mentioned below.

The Wallpapers free app offers a vast selection of live and static wallpapers across various categories. On top of that, it lets you set your own videos as live wallpapers. However, the process isn't exactly straightforward. To set your own videos as live wallpapers, tap on the hamburger menu button in the top left corner of the app's homescreen. Select the Photos and videos on your device option in the menu, tap on Accept on the following page, and then pick a video from your phone's internal storage.

Once again, the app's video browser isn't great, so looking for the video you want to set as a live wallpaper might be a bit difficult. The app also has large banner ads and the occasional pop-up ad, which may turn away many users. On the upside, the app offers a bunch of additional live and static wallpapers. It even includes an auto-change wallpaper feature with which you can set up a couple of static wallpapers to cycle on your homescreen automatically.

To set a live wallpaper, tap on the 'Set as launcher wallpaper' button, check the preview, and tap on 'Set wallpaper.' The app lets you set videos as live wallpapers on just the homescreen or the homescreen and lock screen both. Out of all the apps mentioned on this list, the Video Wallpaper app was the most annoying to use because of the sheer number of ads.

If you have an iPhone and there are videos that you want to turn into live wallpapers, you have options. However, you'll have to first convert those videos to live photos. From there, you'll be able to find the live photo in your library and set it as your wallpaper.

Other apps will even automate the process for you, making and setting new live wallpapers as often as you want. We love Muzei Live Wallpaper because it will give you a new live wallpaper featuring well-known artwork every day. Meanwhile, Forest Live Wallpaper provides you with forest-themed live wallpapers.

I'd like to know if it's possible to change android wallpaper from ADB using my laptop. I don't know if exist any command for it or if I need to copy a picture into a folder or edit a text file. I need resolve this problem with ADB if it could be.

I would write a small Android app that uses a BroadcastReceiver or deeplink to an activity that listens for a specialized Intent. The intent would include data with a location to a file to use as the wallpaper. Then write code within the app that sets the wallpaper programatically. See Programmatically set android phone's background for help on that part. You can then send an intent via adb (see Sending intent to BroadcastReceiver from adb) that your code will be listening for and that would trigger updating the wallpaper. I'm not going to go into detail on how to implement that, but hopefully provide you with enough search terms to know how to implement it yourself.

Live Wallpapers add an interactive element to your homescreen. Some live wallpapers allow you to tap on the screen and see a water rippling effect, while others display your current location on a map, complete with traffic and weather if you so desire.

The app is easy to use, giving you four random wallpapers on screen at a time. If you find one you like, you tap on it to view it and then are given the option to save and set it as your wallpaper. You can also search and browse by category, as well as create your own wallpapers from within the app.
