Investing in Our Future: HAEF Scholarships & Awards

In Spring 2025, the Harlingen Area Educational Foundation (HAEF) proudly awarded $78,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors across Harlingen CISD. These scholarships were presented during the annual Scholarship Awards Banquet held each May — a celebration of academic achievement, perseverance, and community support.

Honoring Excellence

In addition to student scholarships, HAEF recognized outstanding individuals with special awards:

• $2,000 to students with Lifetime Perfect Attendance

• $1,000 to each of the district’s Teachers of the Year

These awards reflect HAEF’s commitment to celebrating dedication — both in the classroom and beyond.

Expanding Opportunities Through STARS

HAEF is proud to partner with the STARS Scholarship Fund, which helps eligible students double their scholarship awards to $2,000 or more. To qualify, students must have completed at least 12 college credit hours prior to applying. Additionally, participating Texas colleges may contribute further funding based on financial need, increasing the total scholarship amount.

Class of 2026: Your Journey Begins Here

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! If you're graduating from:

•  Harlingen High School

• Harlingen South High School

• Harlingen School of Health Professions

• Harlingen Collegiate High School

You are invited to apply for a HAEF Scholarship.

The application process is designed to give the selection committee insight into your academic achievements, personal interests, and family background. Be sure to follow all instructions carefully, meet deadlines, and let your personality shine through — especially in your personal responses and essay.

STARS Scholarship Opportunity

If you’ve earned 12 or more college credit hours, you may also be eligible for the STARS Scholarship Fund. Depending on your chosen college or university, STARS may help double or even triple your award.
