If you want a precision-engineered shield specifically molded for your Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in tight parking garages, choose HATHWAY Fit; if you need a breathable, anti-slip mat with a bold accent that blocks sun glare for your Kia Sportage, choose Generic Car Dashboard Cover.
• HATHWAY Fit: Delivers a sleek, all-black carpet finish designed strictly for the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (2011-2018), offering a seamless, factory-like aesthetic that prioritizes clean lines over flashy details.
• Generic Car Dashboard Cover: Features a functional red-edge design for the Kia Sportage 4 (2016-2021) with a focus on breathability and heat reduction, though it requires careful verification of your vehicle's drive side before purchase.
• Best For: The HATHWAY is the ideal choice for owners who value a uniform, understated interior look and specific model fitment, while the Generic option suits drivers seeking moisture control and visual contrast against their dashboard.
The HATHWAY Fit is built for a very specific audience: owners of the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport between model years 2011 and 2018 who prefer a subtle, professional appearance inside their cabin. This product is a single unit in a classic black color, designed to act as a protective carpet pad rather than a statement piece. Its primary function is to cover the dashboard surface completely, creating a unified dark plane that hides dust and minor scuffs without introducing competing colors or patterns. If you are parked in a crowded garage where visibility is low, this matte black finish blends into the shadows, maintaining a cohesive look that doesn't draw attention to the dash itself.
This product is tailored for drivers who prioritize a "stock" feel but want an extra layer of protection against UV rays and friction. The material appears to be a standard carpet weave, which is effective at absorbing light and preventing the plastic underneath from fading under direct sunlight. Because it is manufactured specifically for the LHD (Left Hand Drive) version of this vehicle, the contours likely align with the instrument cluster and glove box area more precisely than a universal fit. You should buy this if you drive a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and want a simple, no-fuss solution that keeps your dashboard cool and scratch-free without altering the original color scheme of your car's interior.
It is also not the right choice if you are looking for a product that adds a pop of color or unique styling to your cabin, since the only available design is a solid black unit. Similarly, if your vehicle is a different make or model year outside the 2011-2018 range, this specific mold will not work. It is a utilitarian accessory that does exactly what it says—protects and covers—but it does not offer versatility across different car brands or configurations.

The Generic Car Dashboard Cover is engineered for a different set of priorities, specifically targeting owners of the Kia Sportage 4 QL produced between 2016 and 2021. Unlike the monochromatic approach of the competitor, this item introduces a "Red Edge" detail, giving the interior a sporty, customized touch that stands out against the dashboard. The manufacturer emphasizes the fabric's breathability, noting that it allows air to circulate rather than trapping moisture underneath. This feature is crucial for drivers in humid climates or those who park their cars in enclosed spaces like parking garages where ventilation can be poor and condensation might otherwise build up on the dash.
This product shines when you need a straightforward way to combat summer heat without relying on complex installation methods. The design includes an anti-slip surface intended to hold its position on both smooth and textured dashboard panels, ensuring the mat stays put even when you open doors or accelerate. The material is described as color-fast and odorless, addressing common concerns about cheap aftermarket plastics or fabrics that smell strong or fade quickly after a few weeks of sun exposure. If you are driving a RHD (Right Hand Drive) Kia Sportage, this is one of the few options that explicitly caters to that configuration, making it a vital tool for international buyers or expats in regions where driving on the right side of the road is the norm.
You should consider this cover if you want a balance of protection and style, but you must be vigilant about confirming your vehicle's drive orientation before ordering. The listing clearly warns users to check whether they have a left-hand or right-hand drive car, as the cut is specific to the Kia Sportage 4 QL. If you drive a different Kia model or a vehicle from another brand, this fitment will not apply. Additionally, if you prefer a completely hidden, invisible protector that disappears into the dashboard, the red edge might be too conspicuous for your taste. This is a practical accessory for daily drivers who want to extend the life of their dashboard while adding a small burst of character to their ride.
• Best for Parking Garages: Both products serve well here, but the HATHWAY offers better light absorption for a dark, uniform look, while the Generic provides superior breathability to prevent moisture buildup in stagnant air.
• Vehicle Compatibility: HATHWAY is strictly for Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (2011-2018) LHD; Generic is strictly for Kia Sportage 4 QL (2016-2021) RHD. You cannot use either on a different car.
• Aesthetic Preference: Choose HATHWAY for a stealthy, all-black, factory-style finish; choose Generic if you want a visible red trim accent to break up the monotony of the dash.
• Material Feel: The Generic cover highlights breathability and air circulation to limit moisture, whereas the HATHWAY focuses on a dense carpet texture for light blocking and surface protection.
• Installation Simplicity: Both rely on a non-adhesive, lay-on-top design, but the Generic explicitly mentions holding well on textured surfaces, suggesting a slightly more secure grip on rougher dashboards.
• Drive Side Specificity: The HATHWAY is designed exclusively for Left Hand Drive vehicles, while the Generic is marketed specifically for Right Hand Drive setups, so your steering wheel location dictates your choice immediately.
• Durability Concerns: The Generic product claims to be odorless and color-fast, directly addressing longevity issues common with cheap mats, while the HATHWAY relies on the inherent durability of its black carpet material.
• Value Proposition: If you need a precise fit for a Mitsubishi, the HATHWAY is your only logical path; if you own a Kia Sportage, the Generic offers a specialized RHD solution that generic universal mats often miss.
In my opinion, I would buy the Generic Car Dashboard Cover if I were driving a compatible Kia Sportage, primarily because the emphasis on breathability and moisture control addresses a real-world problem that many drivers overlook until it causes damage. The red edge adds a nice personal touch without being overwhelming, and the explicit mention of odorless, color-fast materials suggests a higher quality construction than basic carpet pads. However, if I owned a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, I would instantly switch to the HATHWAY Fit simply because finding a dedicated LHD-specific cover is rare, and its seamless black design perfectly preserves the vehicle's original interior aesthetic. For parking garages specifically, where heat and humidity linger, the breathability of the Generic cover gives it a slight edge in long-term comfort, provided the fit is perfect for your drive side. Ultimately, the decision rests entirely on your car model and whether you prefer a hidden protector or a styled accent.
No, the product specifications clearly state this item is designed for Left Hand Drive (LHD) Mitsubishi Outlander Sport models only, so it will not fit RHD vehicles correctly.
According to the product details, the fabric is breathable and specifically designed to let air circulate, which limits moisture buildup compared to non-porous materials.
You must verify your vehicle is a Kia Sportage 4 QL from the 2016-2021 model years and confirm that your car is Right Hand Drive (RHD) before placing an order.
While pricing fluctuates, you should check the current price on Amazon for both items to see which fits your budget, as neither listing includes a fixed dollar amount in the description.
