Ecosystem Biogeochemistry

Hasan, a biogeochemist, holds a keen interest in studying the carbon dynamics of terrestrial ecosystems. Of particular importance is the role of soil in these ecosystems as a significant carbon sink worldwide. However, various human-induced pressures such as land use change and climate change have the potential to disrupt this carbon sink. Consequently, these once carbon-storing ecosystems may transform into carbon-emitting sources.
