Hasan H. Rahman

Hi, I’m Md Hasan Hafizur Rahman, a graduate student (Ph.D) in Computer Science at the University of Idaho, USA, starting from Fall 2023. I am currently working as a Graduate Research Assistant (RA) and Teaching Assistant (TA) in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Idaho. My role involves conducting research and assisting with teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in various computer science courses. My research focuses on Machine Learning, Data Science, Health-Informatics, and Deep Learning, and I’m passionate about solving real-world problems through these innovative technology. Before joining our vibrant Smart Database Systems Lab (SmartDBLab) at this university, I served as a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Comilla University.

Current Research:

My primary research focuses on Inverse Machine Learning for discovering novel material properties with higher extinction coefficients, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Hasan Jamil. This work is a collaborative effort with Prof. Li's research group at Boise State University. In this project, we are developing and applying innovative machine learning techniques to predict and optimize material properties, aiming to design advanced materials with superior performance characteristics. Our goal is to push the boundaries of material science by leveraging computational approaches to achieve higher extinction coefficients. This research combines interdisciplinary expertise, merging machine learning, data-driven material discovery, and domain-specific knowledge, to address complex challenges in material design.
