I am a researcher in social interaction analysis, linguistic anthropology, and sociolinguistics, and currently an assistant professor at Hiroshima University. 

My research interest is how communication is organized in everyday settings to shape what I call “vernacular public places,” such as local grocery stores, mobile supermarkets, and community centers.
