This Privacy Policy explains how Haruka (“Haruka”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Haruka mobile app and related services.
Haruka is an AI living companion app. Haruka is not a medical service, therapy service, legal service, financial advisor, or emergency support service. AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent help, please contact your local emergency services or a trusted local crisis support provider.

We may collect the following types of information depending on how you use Haruka.
Haruka supports account login through Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In. We may collect and store account identifiers, authentication-related information, and basic account records needed to operate your Haruka account.
If you delete your account in the app, Haruka will process the deletion request and, where available, revoke the Sign in with Apple token associated with the account.
You can delete your account in the app by going to:
Settings → Account → Delete Account
When you send messages to Haruka, we process your message content, conversation context, and related metadata to generate AI responses and operate the app.
AI responses may be generated by third-party AI or model service providers. These responses may be inaccurate and should not be relied on as professional advice.
Haruka may save selected information derived from your conversations to provide continuity, diary-like summaries, remembered moments, or soft commitments inside the app.
This may include short summaries, remembered context, diary-style entries, or user-created or conversation-derived items that help Haruka respond more consistently over time.
Haruka does not guarantee that every memory, diary entry, or commitment will be saved, surfaced, or interpreted perfectly.
Haruka may process calendar or planner information that you choose to create, save, edit, or share inside the app.
If Haruka requests access to your device calendar, that permission is used for calendar and planning features chosen by you. Haruka does not silently read all calendar data for unrelated purposes. You can control calendar permissions through iOS settings and through app-level choices where available.
Haruka may offer Search and Think features.
Search may process your query, conversation context, and related information to retrieve or generate grounded answers.
Think may use additional reasoning or context to generate a more considered response.
These features may involve third-party AI, search, or grounding providers that process information as needed to provide the feature.
Haruka may offer topics, trending themes, or shared theme features.
If user contribution features are available, contribution is intended to be based on user choice or consent. Aggregated or shared topic features are designed to avoid publicly showing private personal messages as individual user content.
Haruka may allow you to choose photos from your photo library, attach images, or use camera-related features.
Photos or images you choose to provide may be processed to generate AI responses or support app features. iOS camera and photo library permissions are controlled by you through iOS settings.
We do not claim that user photos are permanently stored unless a specific app feature clearly says so.
We may collect product interaction data, usage data, performance data, quota usage, error logs, crash or diagnostic information, and operational metadata.
We use this information to improve reliability, safety, abuse prevention, cost control, performance, and the overall product experience.
Haruka may track usage counts, rate limits, daily limits, and abuse-prevention signals.
Chat, Search, Think, or other features may have daily or rate-based limits. These limits help us operate the service safely and sustainably.
We use information to:
provide and operate Haruka;
authenticate accounts;
generate AI responses;
support memory, diary, planner, and continuity features;
provide Search, Think, Topics, photo, and calendar-related features when used;
maintain safety, reliability, and abuse prevention;
enforce usage limits and quotas;
diagnose bugs, errors, and performance issues;
respond to support and privacy requests;
comply with legal, security, and operational requirements.
We may share information with service providers as needed to operate Haruka. These may include providers for:
Apple Sign-In and Apple App Store or TestFlight distribution;
Google Sign-In;
backend, database, hosting, or storage infrastructure;
AI model and response generation;
search, grounding, or retrieval features;
analytics, diagnostics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, or abuse prevention.
These service providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices and only as needed for the relevant app functionality.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising tracking unless this is clearly disclosed and implemented in the app.
We may share information:
with service providers that help us operate Haruka;
when required for security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, or legal compliance;
when needed to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of Haruka, users, or others;
with your consent or at your direction.
Private chat messages are not intended to be publicly displayed as individual user content through shared topics or trending features.
We may retain account-linked information while your account is active.
Some data, such as logs, backups, security records, fraud-prevention records, or operational records, may remain for a limited period after deletion where necessary for security, legal, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, backup recovery, or operational reasons.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it is retained.
You can delete your account in the Haruka app:
Settings → Account → Delete Account
Account deletion is intended to remove account-linked data from active systems, subject to normal technical, legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, and operational retention limits.
Where available, Haruka will also revoke the Sign in with Apple token associated with the deleted account.

Haruka is not intended for children.
If the App Store age rating for Haruka is 17+, the app should only be used by users who meet the applicable age requirement in their region.
We do not knowingly design Haruka for use by children.
Haruka may be used by users in different countries or regions. Your information may be processed in countries or regions where our service providers operate.
If you are in immediate danger or require urgent assistance, contact your local emergency services. Haruka is not an emergency support service.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
