U19 World Championships
The U19 event saw 1st Year College Athlete Katie Gardner representing Great Britain in the W4x-. With this being Katie's second representation for Great Britain this season, she was eager to improve on the European Championships performance. With a strong first few heats in the event, Katie and her crew were in a fantastic position moving into their Medal Final race. With an absolute nail biter of a final, Katie and her crew moved into the Silver Medal position which they maintained throughout the remainder of the race - becoming World Silver Medallists!
U23 World Championships
The U23 event saw 2nd Year College Athlete Elliott Donovan-Davies representing Great Britain in the M4x-. This season Elliott has been absolutely storming through the U23 scene whilst still being an U19 athlete, winning National Schools, medalling at BUCS, and being selected for the U23 Great Britain. Elliott and his crew had a hard fought battle into the Medal Final, getting the last qualifying spot into the final by a bow ball. Elliott and crew had an impressively strong race, coming away with a sixth position finish. A really impressive performance for such a young crew against really experienced opposition.
Head Hartpury Coach Ben Jackson, was also selected to Coach the W2- at the event. Through an absolutely dominant medal race they came away with the win, becoming U23 World Champions.
Alumni Fergus Woolnough represented Great Britain in the M4-, with another dominante performance winning that event. Crowning him Double World Champion adding to his win in the M8+ from 2023.
Alumni Sam Sheppard made his coaching debut with the U23 M2-, coming away with a win in the B Final. Impressive result for such a young coach.
