Someone at Hartford Schools is not on the same page as someone else.
The Superintendent reported to the Teaching and Learning Committee in November that 56% of Hartford Students "...feel connected to my school or community."
One of the Superintendent's Major Goals for 2024 is to get this "feeling connected" number up to 62%, just 6 points higher than where it is now. Let's not be too rigorous in our expectations.
However, when the Board of Education approved a $140,000 contract to CTForum, a great program which Hartford students should embrace, it was shown that one manner of assessing the effectiveness of this program during the spring of 2023, would be that the "feeling connected" number would be at 65%, three points higher than where the Superintendent expects it to be in 2024. Why is this number expected to fall from the spring of 2023 to 2024?
