Harry Pickard

Welcome.

I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics at Newcastle University.  I currently organise the Newcastle University Applied Micro (NUAM) Research Group and am the Degree Programme Director for Joint Honours degrees in Newcastle University Business School.

I work in the field of political economy, with research interests in public opinion, political behaviour, migration and terrorism. I am also generally interested in applied econometrics and data science methods.

From June 2021 to November 2023, I was co-investigator on the ESRC funded project "The effect of terrorism on public attitudes and individual well-being in Great Britain". Project webpage here.
