Hi, I’m Haris Gulzar, a trilingual AI researcher based in Tokyo, with a focus on Conversational AI, Speech Technologies, and LLMs. I currently work at Samsung Research Japan (SRJ), where I build and fine-tune Spoken AI agents for various real-world applications.
My background includes a Master’s from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Now Science Tokyo), several research papers at conferences like INTERSPEECH and IEEE, and some fun side projects like voice-cloning TTS systems. I’m also big on community, leading the MEXT Scholars Association and co-organizing Tokyo AI Talks, where we bring AI folks together to share ideas and opportunities.

I have a deep interest in Japanese Culture and Language. I also have business level Japanese Language skill (JLPT N2). Currently, I am also serving MEXT Scholars Association (MSA) as an advisor. MSA is a network of 8000+ MEXT scholars and alumni from all across the world.
