Zaccharie Risacher traded to Dallas Mavericks in Three-Team Trade
The Atlanta Hawks, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Dallas Mavericks all agreed to a three-team trade on July 18th, 2026. The deal involved Atlanta sending former first overall pick Zaccharie Risacher to the Dallas Mavericks and Lu Dort to Atlanta as the main headliners. The full trade details are listed below:
Atlanta Hawks receive:
Lu Dort (from Oklahoma City Thunder) and Ryan Nembhard (From Dallas Mavericks
Dallas Mavericks receive:
Zaccharie Risacher and a 2027 top-55 protected 2nd round pick
Oklahoma City Thunder receive:
Three second round picks
(2027 2nd round pick from Chicago, 2031 and 2032 2nd round picks most favorable
from Atlanta)
Lu Dort was the longest tenured player on the Thunder before being traded to Atlanta. He won a championship with OKC in 2025 and was first team All Defense in 2025.
Atlanta gets the defensive minded Dort to pair next to their dynamic defensive backcourt duo in Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker while Oklahoma City creates cap space to avoid luxury tax penalties and gets three 2nd round picks in return. Dallas looks to create a powerhouse with now two former 1st overall picks on their roster in Risacher and Cooper Flagg.
Via Shams Charania, “Oklahoma City has now acquired seven second-round picks while going under the second apron and shedding $200 million this offseason via the trades of Dort, Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins.”
Atlanta takes on Dort’s $17M expiring contract after Oklahoma City picked up Dort’s team option and in return received three 2nd round picks.
Former teammates Aaron Wiggins and Dort will be reunited in Atlanta after Wiggins was dealt to Atlanta earlier this summer. Wiggins posted on his social media showing his excitement to be reunited with his partner in their new home.
Thank you Risacher!
Zaccharie Risacher was the Atlanta Hawks's second 1st overall pick, but he was the first to play for the franchise. Atlanta first drafted David Robinson with the 1st overall pick in 1975, however; Robinson chose to sign with the Denver Nuggets of the ABA. Risacher showed flashes in his rookie season, but injuries forced him to take a step back last season. Risacher appeared in 75 games in his rookie year and 67 in his sophomore season. These injuries never allowed Risacher to get into a rhythm on the floor and hindered his minutes in the rotation. We give our thoughts on the trade in the newest episode below.
Zaccharie Risacher averaged 11.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in two seasons on the Atlanta Hawks.
