All Together Now!

Audition Info

Hardin County Playhouse is holding a fund raiser concert on November 12, 13, 14 and 15. The show will consist of 15 songs from Broadway Musicals. All songs will be performed concert style, meaning we’re just singing the songs. Most songs will be performed as solos, but there are a few that will require a group of vocalists. We need singers, all ranges. We are not looking for characters. No acting is required. If there’s a song from the list that you want to sing and it was originally intended for someone of the opposite sex or a different age, go for it. We’re open to hearing you make it your own. What matters is that you can sing the song and sell your choices. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, October 19, and Wednesday October 20 at the Science Auditorium at ECTC in Elizabethtown. It’s the same location that all of our shows are performed in.

Since we will besinging mask-less, all performers will be required to be vaccinated for Covid 19.This is not negotiable.

Please come in prepared to sing one or more of the 15 songs listed. (NOTE: You will most likely only get to sing one verse and chorus. Us cutting you off doesn’t mean we don’t like what you’re doing. It simply means we don’t need to hear any more.) All auditions will be to recorded accompaniments as will all performances. If selected you may be asked to perform more than one song for the show. If selected you may also be asked to sing in the group numbers. If you want to audition as a group of singers to perform one or more of the group pieces that is also welcomed. The edited sheet music can be accessed via this link. Accompaniments will be posted soon. The selection of songs are:

  • Pure Imagination from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

  • Writing Down the Story of My Life from Junie B. Jones, The Musical

  • Back to Before from Ragtime

  • *Gimme, Gimme from Thoroughly Modern Millie

  • We’re All in This Together from High School Musical -This is a group number

  • Empty Chairs at Empty Tables from Les Miserables

  • Seize the Day from Newsies -This is a group number

  • When I grow Up from Matilda the Musical

  • Let it Go from Frozen

  • Sit Down, You’re Rocking the Boat from Guys & Dolls

  • Seasons of Love from Rent -This is a group number

*Gimme, Gimme and Stop the World have already been pre-cast. If selected, learning the song will be up to you to do at home in your own time. Rehearsals will mainly consist of group numbers and checking in with how everyone is getting along with their song as well as getting used to singing with the pre-recorded accompaniments. People will be called in individually if not part of one of the group numbers. Our goal is to have minimal rehearsals. A rehearsal schedule will be released after auditions and once the performers have been selected. Please come to auditions with your calendars so that you can list any conflicts that you may have during the rehearsal period. Our rehearsal schedule will be based on these conflicts. Final rehearsals will be on November 10th and 11th, when we will all come together and sing the entire show. Everyone is expected to be available for these two rehearsals as well as all four performances. This is your chance to show everyone what you can do with the spotlight. We encourage everyone to come and share your talents with us and the rest of the community. And we look forward to seeing you on October 19th and 20th.

Thanks,

Jeff Curtis & Claire B Allen
