The Colorado Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do Association is happy to accept students aged 11 years or older for Hapkido, and any students aged 5 years or older for Tae Kwon Do. Classes teach serious and practical self-defense, but are still friendly and relaxed.

Classes are especially designed for different age groups: some from middle school to high school, high school to college, college to the work place. They are beneficial for anyone to learn how to protect themselves from being assaulted when they are going from home to school, to the work place or just out and about for recreation.

Grandmaster Hampton teaches at various locations around the Denver area. Please contact us for specific times and locations.

Strength and general fitness are improved through in-class exercises. However, we stress that perfection of technique is superior to muscular force. This is achieved through the repetition of technique under Grandmaster Hampton’s guidance until proper positioning for maximum leverage becomes the student’s intuitive reaction.

We believe that the ultimate aim of Hapkido and Taekwondo is to build the character of the student. Classes are both physically and mentally challenging, and through patience and determination students accomplish feats they previously thought beyond their abilities. This increases self-confidence and self-image, and encourages treating others with greater patience and respect.

Grandmaster Larry E. Hampton over 40 years of training and over 35 years of teaching experience in the martial arts. In addition to his 8th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and his 7th degree black belt in Hapkido, he holds a black belt in Karate and brown belts in both Aikido and Judo.
