If you want deep bass, immersive isolation, and a battery that lasts for days of continuous use, choose HAOYUYAN Earbuds; if you need total situational awareness, true underwater swimming capability, and the freedom of an open-ear design, choose ZOVIMAX Bone Conduction Headphones. This isn't a subtle choice between two similar gadgets; it is a decision between two fundamentally different ways of listening. One prioritizes your audio experience in a controlled bubble, while the other keeps you plugged into the world around you.
• HAOYUYAN Earbuds: The biggest strength is its massive 80-hour total playtime and IPX7 waterproofing, making it perfect for marathon training or long travel; the trade-off is the in-ear seal that isolates you from ambient noise and can feel less comfortable for all-day wear.
• ZOVIMAX Bone Conduction Headphones: The standout feature is the unique ability to swim with them thanks to IPX8 submersion ratings and built-in MP3 storage, plus the open-ear design that lets you hear traffic and conversation; the trade-off is a shorter 12-hour battery life and no active noise cancellation.
• Best for the MacBook user who wants immersion: The HAOYUYAN BX17 model fits this niche perfectly with its stable Bluetooth 5.3 connection and secure fit.
• Best for the MacBook user who needs safety: The ZOVIMAX X7 MAX is the superior pick for runners and swimmers who must remain aware of their environment.
The HAOYUYAN BX17 wireless earbuds are engineered for the person who treats their audio device as a piece of high-performance gear. If you are someone who spends hours listening to podcasts while commuting or plays music loudly during intense gym sessions, this product speaks directly to your workflow. The defining characteristic here is the battery longevity. With a claimed 80 hours of continuous playtime split across the case and the buds themselves, you are looking at a device that might only need charging once a week even with heavy daily use. Each individual earbud holds enough power for 15 hours, which is substantial enough to get you through multiple long flights or back-to-back workdays without reaching for a cable.
The design philosophy leans heavily on security and durability. The inclusion of flexible ear hooks and three sizes of silicone tips suggests a focus on keeping the device firmly in place regardless of how much you move. This is not a passive listening experience; these are sports headphones designed for sweat and rain. The IPX7 rating means they can handle accidental submersion up to one meter for thirty minutes, which covers everything from a sudden downpour to a sweaty workout session where you might accidentally drop them in a puddle. The environmental noise cancellation mentioned in the specs works by balancing internal air pressure to minimize sound loss, allowing the 14.3mm dynamic drivers to push rich bass and clear treble without the need for physical isolation alone.

However, this form factor demands a specific type of user. Because these are in-ear buds, they create a seal that blocks out the outside world. While this enhances the stereo experience, it also removes your auditory awareness of your surroundings. If you plan to run on busy city streets or ride a bike in traffic, you will be completely cut off from approaching cars or cyclists unless you turn the volume down significantly. Furthermore, the reliance on a plastic enclosure and button controls means you are trading tactile simplicity for robustness. You get a dedicated button interface that handles playback and calls without needing to touch your phone, which is convenient, but the closed design simply does not offer the same breathability as an open-ear alternative.
The ZOVIMAX X7 MAX bone conduction headphones occupy a very specific and demanding niche: the athlete who refuses to compromise on safety. This device is built for people who believe that hearing the world is just as important as hearing their music. The open-ear design leaves the ear canal completely unobstructed, allowing ambient sound to flow naturally while bone conduction technology transmits vibrations directly to the inner ear. This makes it an ideal companion for outdoor runners, cyclists, or anyone working in a warehouse or industrial setting where situational awareness is critical. The adjustable strap ensures a snug fit for various head sizes, and the soft silicone pads provide comfort that doesn't rely on plugging into the ear canal, reducing fatigue over long periods.
What truly sets this product apart from almost any other headphone on the market is its dual-mode functionality and swimming capability. Most wireless headphones are useless underwater, but the ZOVIMAX features an IPX8 waterproof rating that allows for full submersion up to five meters deep for 2.5 hours. Crucially, it includes an 8GB internal memory bank capable of storing up to 2,000 songs. This means you can leave your phone behind entirely. By switching to MP3 mode, you have a self-contained music player that works independently of Bluetooth. Since Bluetooth signals do not penetrate water effectively, this local storage is the key to enjoying your playlist while actually swimming laps. It transforms the headphones from a simple accessory into a standalone entertainment system.
The trade-offs here are inherent to the technology. Because the ears remain open, there is zero noise isolation. If you are trying to listen to quiet audiobooks in a noisy cafe or need to focus on a detailed mix, the background chatter will bleed right in. Additionally, the battery life is more modest compared to the HAOYUYAN option, offering 12 hours of total playtime with an 8-hour single-charge duration. While 8 hours is sufficient for most daily activities, it requires more frequent charging than the 80-hour competitor. The magnetic charging cable is convenient, taking just two hours for a full charge, but the lack of active noise cancellation means the listening experience is always tied to the environment you are in.

For my own setup, specifically when pairing with a MacBook, I would lean toward the HAOYUYAN Earbuds. The reason is straightforward: the seamless integration of Bluetooth 5.3 and the sheer utility of that 80-hour battery life make them the better companion for a desktop or laptop workflow. When I am editing video or writing, I need a device that stays powered for days and provides that immersive sonic separation to block out household distractions. The secure fit with ear hooks ensures they stay put even if I move around the room, and the LED display gives me instant confidence that I won't run out of juice mid-session. While the ZOVIMAX is undeniably clever for swimmers, the HAOYUYAN feels like the more versatile daily driver for general computing and office use. However, if your primary goal is running outdoors or hitting the pool, the ZOVIMAX is the only logical choice because it prioritizes safety and waterproofing over pure audio isolation. Both are excellent tools, but for the average user seeking the best comfortable headphone for macbook that balances performance with longevity, the HAOYUYAN takes the crown.
Only the ZOVIMAX Bone Conduction Headphones are suitable for swimming. They carry an IPX8 rating for submersion up to 5 meters and include 8GB of internal storage to play music offline since Bluetooth does not work underwater.
Yes, the HAOYUYAN BX17 models feature environmental noise cancellation technology. This helps minimize external sound interference and balances internal air pressure to enhance voice detection and audio clarity during calls or listening.
The HAOYUYAN Earbuds offer significantly longer battery life with a total of 80 hours of playtime available across the charging case and earbuds combined, whereas the ZOVIMAX offers up to 12 hours total.
Both models connect wirelessly via Bluetooth (5.3 for HAOYUYAN and 6.0 for ZOVIMAX) and are fully compatible with MacBooks. The ZOVIMAX also supports MP3 file transfers via USB for use without a phone or computer connected.
