Dr. Han-Yi Lin is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, working in the field of sustainable AI computing systems. His research designs real-time software systems for AI inference that dynamically adapt hardware resources and model precision, to improve energy efficiency and slow the hardware aging of AI inference systems, thereby reducing the electricity usage and carbon footprint of AI services while extending the operational lifespan of computing hardware. Previously, as a Senior Engineer at MediaTek, he developed energy-aware task scheduling for mobile operating systems and optimized the performance and power efficiency of mobile operating systems. During his Ph.D. program, his research spanned two areas: (1) energy-efficient solutions for mobile devices, with a focus on GPU and OLED power management; and (2) deep learning techniques for computer vision problems, particularly video super-resolution, frame interpolation, and video deblurring.
