Hands Around the World is a fair trade, non-profit business. Our store is run by volunteers who work to promote these handcrafted products. We get our products from fair trade wholesalers, such as SERRV and Ten Thousand Villages, who are connected to hundreds of different artisan groups. We have a few direct contacts with individuals as well. Our goal is to better the communities of these artisans through the promotion of fair trade.
A fair trade organization is a business dedicated to promoting principles that prioritize equitable trade practices and benefit marginalized producers and workers from developing countries. Fair Trade aims to provide fair wages, improve working conditions, and support community development. In addition, fair trade organizations work to educate consumers about the ethical impact of their purchases.
Volunteer
We are a store run fully by volunteers who are passionate about helping the less fortunate ethnic and marginalized groups around the world, and in our own country. We are always looking for more volunteers. If you are interested in working at our store, even one morning or afternoon a month, please give us a call, email, or stop at the store!
