I'm Hanane Nour Moussa, a second year computer science Ph.D. student at the Ohio State University advised by Dr. Huan Sun and Dr. Sachin Kumar -- hence part of the Sun ☀️ and SKAI 🪂 labs!
My overarching research goal is ensuring effective, reliable, and safe integration of AI for scientific workflows. This includes applying AI to important scientific problems, evaluating AI scientific capabilities and mitigating safety concerns, and advancing core AI abilities for science including reasoning, tool use, and memory. I also enjoy studying the interaction between AI and human scientists and how to best augment human scientists with assistive AI technologies.
My recent research focuses on scaling up training data to post-train strong open weight scientific coding agents, and building effective literature-grounded frameworks (e.g. for research idea evaluation). Feel free to email me for collaborations!
I obtained my bachelor's degree in computer science from Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco where I worked on NLP for low resource settings.
