If you want volume-limited headphones for a young child using a MacBook, choose HamiltonBuhl Flex‑Phones Kids Headphones; if you need a 50-headphone classroom set, choose Hengliyuan 50. For a single child, the HamiltonBuhl’s stated 85 dB limit and flexible foam design are the clearer fit; for outfitting a group, Hengliyuan supplies the quantity and adjustable on-ear design.
HamiltonBuhl Flex‑Phones Kids Headphones vs Hengliyuan 50 at a Glance
• Hengliyuan 50’s biggest strength: It is a 50-piece set with retractable headbands, swivel earcups, and soft sponge cushions. Trade-off: The supplied details do not specify a volume limit, and the 50-unit quantity is more than a one-child household needs.
• Choose HamiltonBuhl for a younger child who needs an individual headset for a MacBook or other device with a 3.5 mm jack.
• Choose Hengliyuan for a classroom, library, or other setting that needs many wired headsets with adjustable fit.
• Both connect through a standard 3.5 mm jack; neither is described as wireless.
HamiltonBuhl is the more child-specific option when the priority is a stated ceiling on listening volume. Its audio is designed not to exceed 85 dB, a concrete feature for parents or teachers who want a volume limit built into the headset. That does not mean a child should listen without supervision, but it gives the buyer a defined limit to weigh when choosing headphones for schoolwork, lessons, or quiet activities.
The construction is another important part of the pitch. The headset uses a single piece of soft, flexible, BPA-free EVA foam, intended to tolerate bending and twisting rather than rely on a more rigid headband. Its 4-foot braided, PVC-jacketed Dura-Cord is described as chew- and kink-resistant. For a preschool or elementary-age child who might handle equipment roughly, those design choices are more relevant than extras such as wireless listening, which are not part of this wired model.
Fit is intended for children ages 3 and up. The on-ear pads are leatherette, and the included snap-on extension band is meant to provide a snugger fit for smaller children. With a 3.5 mm plug, it can connect to a MacBook or other laptop if the device has a compatible headphone jack. The listed frequency response is 20 Hz–20 kHz. The main trade-off is straightforward: it is a focused, individual wired headset, not a multi-user set, and it has no stated noise-control feature.

Who should skip it: Skip HamiltonBuhl if you need a classroom batch of headsets, wireless listening, or a stated noise-isolation feature.
Hengliyuan 50: Who It's For
Hengliyuan is built around quantity and adjustable fit. The package contains 50 wired, on-ear headsets, making it a practical format for a classroom, library, or group learning space where many students may need headphones at once. Its 3.5 mm plug supports use with compatible Chromebooks, laptops, PCs, and other devices. A MacBook can be part of that setup when it has a compatible headphone jack; check the actual device connection before choosing any wired headset.
The headband retracts to adjust for child and adult head shapes, while the earcups swivel for easier carrying and storage. Soft sponge ear cushions are intended to make longer sessions more comfortable, and the cable is listed as 1.2 meters, or about 47.25 inches. That gives students some room to sit at a desk without the cord being extremely short. The plug is described as reinforced, and the product information lists a one-year warranty.
There are important differences from HamiltonBuhl. Hengliyuan’s supplied specifications list 92 dB sensitivity, but they do not say the headset has an 85 dB volume ceiling. Sensitivity alone is not the same thing as a built-in maximum-volume limit, so a buyer looking specifically for volume-limited headphones should not assume this set provides that protection. Hengliyuan lists sound isolation as its noise-control type, but the details do not quantify how much outside sound it blocks. The set’s 50-unit quantity is useful for group purchasing, but excessive for someone buying just one child’s headset.
• Best for a stated volume ceiling → HamiltonBuhl Flex‑Phones Kids Headphones. Its design specifies a maximum of 85 dB; Hengliyuan’s supplied details do not list a maximum volume limit.
• Best for equipping a group → Hengliyuan 50. The package contains 50 headsets, which suits a classroom or shared learning space better than a single-unit purchase.
• Best for a child who bends or twists gear → HamiltonBuhl Flex‑Phones Kids Headphones. Its single-piece EVA foam design is intended to flex without breaking.
• Best for adjustable headband fit across different users → Hengliyuan 50. Its retractable headband is designed to fit both children and adults.
• Best for storage between classes → Hengliyuan 50. Its swivel earcups are intended to make the headsets easier to carry and store.
• Best for a chew- and kink-resistant cord design → HamiltonBuhl Flex‑Phones Kids Headphones. Its 4-foot braided, PVC-jacketed cable is described as resistant to chewing and kinking.
• Best for choosing a set with a stated warranty → Either, with details to compare. HamiltonBuhl lists a one-year warranty against manufacturer defects; Hengliyuan lists a one-year warranty.
• Best for head phones for MacBook use by one young student → HamiltonBuhl Flex‑Phones Kids Headphones. Both are wired with 3.5 mm plugs, but HamiltonBuhl adds the stated 85 dB ceiling and age guidance of 3+.
First, check the connection on the MacBook or other device the child will use. Both products are wired and list a 3.5 mm jack. Their connection is a sensible match for a device with that port, but the product details do not describe a wireless connection or an included adapter. If the computer’s available connection does not match, confirm what adapter or connection arrangement would be needed before buying.
Next, separate sensitivity from volume limiting. HamiltonBuhl explicitly specifies an 85 dB maximum. Hengliyuan lists 92 dB sensitivity, but that figure is not presented as a maximum output ceiling. If your main search is for the best volume limiting head phones for macbook, HamiltonBuhl is the more directly supported choice from these specifications. Sensible listening habits and adult guidance still matter; a listed limit is one feature, not a substitute for supervision.
Think about who will use the headset and how often it will move between people. HamiltonBuhl’s extension band and age guidance make it the more focused pick for a young child. Hengliyuan’s retractable headband and swivel cups are more adaptable for a mixed group and easier storage. The 50-piece format also means you should have a plan for organizing, assigning, and storing multiple headsets. If your need is only one set of head phones for MacBook homework, buying a class-sized bundle may not fit the job.
Finally, consider what the provided details do not establish. HamiltonBuhl describes a flexible construction and resistant cord, while Hengliyuan describes reinforced plugs and sound isolation. Neither description gives a full measurement of long-term lifespan or noise reduction. And despite searches for the best waterproof headband headphones for macbook, neither product is described as waterproof. Do not treat flexible foam, sponge cushions, or sound isolation as evidence of water resistance.
I would choose HamiltonBuhl Flex‑Phones Kids Headphones for one young student using a MacBook with a compatible 3.5 mm jack. In my opinion, the stated 85 dB ceiling, flexible foam construction, and chew-resistant cord make it the more compelling individual-child option. I would choose Hengliyuan instead when the actual need is 50 adjustable wired headsets for a shared space. For one child and a clear volume-limit priority, HamiltonBuhl is my pick.
