What is HalloWENA?

HalloWENA is a celebration of all that is good in Wedgwood East! It's neighbors coming together to let our kids trick or treat safely. It's meeting new friends and neighbors. It's turned in to quite a party!

For the last 7 or 8 years a group of Wedgwood Moms and the Wedgwood East Neighborhood Association have worked with residents to get streets blocked off after a few years of our kids almost getting run over by cars. Walton has always been a hotspot for trick or treating in our neighborhood and they put on a great Halloween show! We're grateful that Glenmont is on board now too.

It's takes a lot to put this event on. We've learned a LOT over the years! We need police to help at barricades and for emergencies, we need WAY more candy than anyone can imagine, we need signatures from Walton and Glenmont residents, and we need about 20 volunteers the night of the event.

Come join the fun and help show off our neighborhood!

Permit Signatures!

If you are a resident of Walton or Glenmont, we need you to virtually sign the petition to get approval for the street closure permit. We need 50% +1 signatures for both streets. Please share this with your neighbors on your street. We need this completed by September 24th. You can also text your info to Amanda (817) 879-4976 which should include our full name, address, and declaration that you approve.

Candy Donations

Donate candy or non-candy items from Amazon. The donations will be delivered to the home of Amanda Suttles and a group of volunteers will deliver candy to all participating homes on Glenmont & Walton the Sunday before Halloween.

Barricade Volunteers

We need 16 volunteers total, 2 for each intersection. All you have to do is sit and hand out candy and be ready to move the barricade if an approved vehicle needs to get through.

Food Trucks Needed!

We are expecting thousands of attendees to our event over the 2 hour period. Last year we had two food trucks and the lines were pretty long. We'd love to have a few more this year. Let us know if you'd like to bring your food truck!

Monetary Donations

The cost to pull off this event to cover the police and provide candy to residents is between $3,000 and $5,000. The cost of candy has increased and the volume of attendees also continues to increase. Your donation will go directly to purchasing candy and helping to cover the cost of our police to direct traffic. You can make your monetary donation directly to WENA and they will allocate the donation to this event.

We are working out the details of how to donate.

Email abbyjohnsonfw@gmail.com and we'll get you on the list for an update once it's decided!
