I am a doctoral student in History pursuing my degree at Western Michigan University, where I am currently an Instructor of Latin and a TA for courses offered by the History Department. I am additionally engaged in a digital humanities project,the Cistercian Women's Houses Project, bringing the archive to an accessible and open-source format. We are making steady progress with the goal to connect monastic researchers with linked data concerning female communities of the Cistercian order and will be excited to launch the site within the next academic year.

I have investigated a wide range of scholarly topics across large periods of time, but have always found myself back in the politics of language. Across years of undergraduate and graduate study, I have been fortunate enough to work with Attic Greek, Modern and Old French, and Latin. What has connected my semi-unorthodox path of study is the analysis of linguistic choices in historical sources. I focus on the rhetorical choices in word choice, references, and grammar. I am a published translator in Norbertine Charters and have listed my work for the Communicator on this site. I am happy to provide access to these publications upon request. 

I received my Master's degree in Classical Civilizations from Florida State University in 2024 and my Bachelor's in History with a minor in Classical, Medieval, and Renaissance Studies from Saint Norbert College in 2022. I am a current member of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South and president of the History Graduate Student Organization here at Western.
