I got both games, and i dont know which one to play first. Im a big fan of the original half life so i think Deathmatch Source would be better, but my friend insists that HL2 Deathmatch is better! Please help, I wanna play that game as soon as possible!

What made hl:d such a great game in my life was the networking and performance. I lived in the outback. Me and my friends would gather for LAN parties with a random assortment of switches, routers and varying quality computers. The one game everyone could run and connect to each others game was always half-life death match and HL mods like CS, TF, ESF.

Almost everything is always visible. All decorations like trees and bushes are made of studio models using XDM RenderSystem (because otherwise engine definitely runs out of limits and crashes halfway through). Global particle system adds to already enormous scene complexity. And when players join, polycount just skyrockets.
