ロシア北極圏のチャウン湾で繁殖するコハクチョウは日本で越冬することが分わかっており、繁殖年齢や寿命を調べるためにDiana Solovyevaさんが繁殖地で捕獲して、プラスチック製の首輪と足環（カラーマーキングと言います）を装着しています。詳細はバードリサーチのサイトをご覧ください。
Dianaさんとの共同研究として、このWebサイトでは全国の白鳥ウォッチャーから届く観察記録を整理して、コハクチョウたちの名簿を作っています。ホームページ左上の「三」ボタンをクリックすると、首輪・足環の番号を選んでコハクチョウ名簿をご覧いただけます。
カラーマーキング調査はガンカモ類国内生息地ネットワークに協力して行っています。カラーマーキングについては日本鳥類標識協会やフライウェイパートナーシップ（英語サイト）にも情報があります。

Bewick’s Swans breeding in Chaunskaya Bay in the Russian Arctic are known to winter in Japan. Dr. Diana Solovyeva captures them at their breeding grounds, and attaches plastic collars and leg bands (called color markings) to them. This is a study to document annual survival of the swans, family formation, age of the first reproduction, and family divorce.
In collaboration with Dr. Solovyeva, we compile a list of marked swans on this website by organizing the observation records from swan watchers all over Japan. Click on the "三" button at the top left of the home page, and you can view the sighting records of the swan by selecting the number of the collar/band numbers.
