"I was pleasantly surprised at the speed with which Hakomi helped me connect with my deeper emotions" - Pav
Hakomi is one of the main Somatic Therapy modality.
In Hakomi, we create a safe container for you to study your experience, and how you organize yourself around issues in your life.
By studying how the situation manifests in your thoughts, emotions, sensations, body and movements, we access deeply held beliefs and strategies that you have adopted in order to survive and that no longer serve you.
Some of the principles of Hakomi are non-violence and organicity, which means that we follow your experience, meeting every part of you with acceptance and curiosity. From that place we can transform beliefs and create new possibilities for your nervous system.
This work is informed by attachment theory and trauma therapy.
Hakomi is best for you if
You have developed your capacity for mindfulness and being present with your experience
You can step aside of the content and stories to get into contact with the felt sense associated with your situations
You recognise the value of going deeper and work with parts of yourself that may have been left behind
That said, Hakomi is suited for a large range of people and I help you be more mindful. Curiosity and a will to explore and change is all it takes!
Hakomi might not be recomended in case of severe developmental trauma and dissociation. If observing your experience mindfully is challenging, some work might be needed beforehand to build more capacity.
Where a Hakomi session goes is always a surprise, but there is a way of working that we follow.
We slow down and get into contact with your experience, creating a sense of safety and attunement that allows curiosity.
You might bring a theme to work on, or something might emerge from your system and the relationship between us.
We might set up experiments in mindfulness to learn more about a pattern. For example how you reach out for contact, or set a boundary.
We will learn about your thoughts, emotions, impulses, memories, etc.. and by studying those we may access deeper material.
This leads to insights about what kind of nourishment your system needs and we can create missing experiences, leading to transformation of patterns.
Finally we look at the meaning of this experience in a larger context and how to integrate it in your life.
I've been curious about transformation for a decade, studying Vipassana, insight meditation and non-duality. Mindfulness and a curiosity for experience serves as a foundation for my work.
My path led me to learn about experience, trauma and how they get in the way of relationships. I trained first in Hypnotherapy and Transpersonal Psychology, then in Attachment Therapy and Somatic Work.
I learned Focusing, one of the first body based therapy systems with Embody Lab. I started training in Hakomi with some of the world leading teachers at The Hakomi Institute of California in 2023.
I am on my path for certification in the Hakomi method and I have been practicing since 2021 integrating Focusing, Parts Work and other modalities.
I work both in person in Malmö and online on Zoom, I offer affordable prices as I am continuing to train towards certification.
