Description: This piece was inspired by my favourite novel, Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. The book is filled with wit and humour that is followed with the entrigue of mystery and drama. It represents relationships in an abstract and complex way, where two characters don't have to kiss to express their love, and that love isn't just what we are used to seeing. At the end of the book, Gideon sacrifices herself for someone she once wanted to kill. And that same person suffers the heart break of their death, dying in a way themself. This very bloody love they both has for eachother is what I wanted to represent in this illustration, as well as to pay homage to such an amazing book.
