Independent Living and Training

Independence is about making choices, and making the best of your abilities to live your life as you want, which will be different ways for adults, and children. Some of our services are free for disabled people in Harrow, some can be purchased e.g. using a personal budget. Contact us for more details.

Using the Red Brick Cafe as a base, Harrow Association of Disabled People will offer training to provide the opportunity for you to gain, or improve on your independent living skills such as:-

  • Basic Food and Hygiene
  • Basic Cooking
  • Shopping with Confidence
  • Travel Training
  • Keeping Safe
  • Healthy lifestyle

HAD also offers a range of services for people with learning disabilities such as:

Junior 1:1 Club for children with learning disabilities

Computer 1:1 Club for children with learning disabilities

Senior Computer 1:1 Club for people with learning disabilities

Changes Nightclub - an integrated night club for people with learning disabilities and their friends

Travel training project - to help people with learning disabilities become more independent

Special outings and social events for people with learning disabilities

Cookery Classes (Thursday evenings)
