Analyzing the Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) across various states for Staffs, Aides and availability of different supplies for preventing infection
The data for the Covid-19 nursing home's long term module is reported by the CDC. The goal of this dataset is to keep track of all occurrences involving care and supplies at the institutions. The CMS is now obligated to disclose the immunization status of both residents and employees.
The information we're looking for is largely for the years 2020 to 2022, and it's all about vaccination status, different personnel shortages, and facility supply availability. Using this information, we want to assess the state's staffing and facility supply shortages.
The resource deficiency optimization techniques include CONVENTIONAL - used to prevent and manage infection, CONTINGENCY - used when a supply shortage is expected, and CRISIS - used when supplies cannot fulfil facility demands.
This visualization depicts the change in the shortage of Nursing staff across all the states of the US from May 2020 to March 2022. We can see that Oklahoma has had one of the highest shortages of Nursing staff for both years. This shortage decreases for North Dakota from 2020 to 2022.
