Thank you for choosing Habit Tracker & Pomodoro Timer ("we", "our", or "the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of information when you use our mobile application on Android.
Core Principle: Habit Tracker is built as an offline-first, privacy-by-design application. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal data. All data you create remains strictly on your own physical device.
We do not collect or transmit any of the following:
No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, or device IDs.
No Account Registration: The App does not require user registration, logins, or social account integration.
No Cloud Synchronization: We do not run proprietary remote servers to host or sync your habits, notes, or timers.
No Location Tracking: We do not access, track, or store GPS or network-based location data.
No Financial Information: The App does not process payments or store payment credentials.
No Advertising or Analytics Tracking: The App contains no third-party ad networks (e.g., Google AdMob) or user tracking/analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase Analytics, AppsFlyer).
All information created during your use of the App is stored exclusively within the App's private local sandbox database (SQLite via Android Room) and encrypted SharedPreferences/Jetpack DataStore on your device:
Habit Information: Habit titles, descriptions, custom notes, frequency goals, category types (Good Habit / Quit Bad Habit), selected icon, and accent color.
Tracking & History Records: Daily completion check-ins, current and best streaks, completion percentages, and relapse timestamps for quit-habits.
Pomodoro Timer Logs: Number of completed focus sessions, focus durations, and associated habit links.
App Preferences: Selected theme, display language (English or Vietnamese), and reminder times.
To deliver core productivity features, the App requests specific Android system permissions. None of these permissions are used to collect personal data:

Haptic Feedback
android.permission.VIBRATE
Provides gentle vibration feedback when marking habits completed and when Pomodoro focus/break sessions finish.
Foreground Service
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE, android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE
Keeps the Pomodoro countdown timer running accurately without being terminated by Android battery optimizations when your screen is locked or the App is in the background.
You retain 100% ownership of your data:
Manual Backup (Export): You can export your entire habits database, streak history, and settings as a clean .json file at any time via Android's native Storage Access Framework (SAF). The file is saved directly to the device directory or cloud drive of your choice.
Manual Restore (Import): You can restore your data from your previously exported .json file.
No Interception: The App does not intercept, copy, or upload your backup files to any remote server.
Because your data is stored exclusively on your device:
In-App Deletion: You can edit or delete any habit, streak history, or timer log directly inside the App at any time.
Complete Deletion: You can permanently delete all data by clearing the App's storage via Android Settings > Apps > HabitTracker > Storage > Clear Data, or by uninstalling the application. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered unless you previously exported a backup.
The App is completely independent and does not incorporate third-party analytics, behavioral tracking, or advertising SDKs. It uses only official Google Android Jetpack libraries (Compose, Room, Glance, DataStore, Hilt) which operate strictly on-device without external tracking.
Our App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, the App complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements or app features. The revised policy will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
