Introduction
------------
Habitly AI ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your personal information safe. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and your choices regarding that information when you use the Habitly AI mobile application (the "App").
If you have questions or requests about this policy or our data practices, please contact us at: thaimahjj@gmail.com (replace with your app's contact email before publishing).
What information we collect
---------------------------
1. Information stored locally on your device
- Habits, habit metadata (name, icon, color, category, frequency, goals), completions data (dates), reminders, streak and achievement states. These are stored locally on the device by default.
2. Personal data you provide
- Account information (if applicable), in-app purchases or billing identifiers required for purchases, and optional user-provided data in chats or notes.
3. Usage, diagnostics and analytics
- We may collect aggregated or anonymized usage data and crash reports to improve app stability and features. These data help us understand feature usage, detect crashes and fix bugs.
4. AI chat data and third‑party processing
- If you interact with the AI chat feature (credits-based), the messages you send may be transmitted to third-party AI service providers to generate responses. The content of AI chats may be stored and processed by those providers in accordance with their policies. We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Device and permission data
- Device model, OS version, and runtime permission decisions (e.g., notifications permission). We request only permissions necessary for app features (notifications for reminders, Internet for optional services and purchases).
How we use the information
--------------------------
- To provide and operate the App's core features (habit tracking, reminders, streaks, charts).
- To schedule and deliver local and push notifications for reminders.
- To enable in-app purchases and manage credits.
- To power AI chat responses (with your explicit use of the chat feature).
- To analyze and improve the app, fix bugs and monitor performance.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
Data storage and retention
--------------------------
- Local storage: Habit data and progress are stored on the user's device and are under the user's control. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app will remove local data unless you export or back it up.
- Remote/third-party storage: If you use features that explicitly sync or export data to remote services, those services may retain copies. For AI chats, the third-party AI provider may retain logs; check the provider's privacy policy for their retention practices.
- We retain analytics and aggregated crash reports for as long as needed to improve the App; these are typically aggregated and pseudonymized.
Sharing and third-party services
-------------------------------
We may share information with:
- Service providers who perform services on our behalf (e.g., analytics, crash reporting, payment processors, AI providers). These providers are contractually required to protect the data and use it only for the services they provide.
- Legal authorities if required by law, or to protect our legal rights.
Examples of third-party services used:
- In-app billing providers (Google Play Billing) to handle purchases.
- AI and cloud providers (only if you use the AI chat feature) — these providers may process chat content to generate responses.
- Analytics and crash reporting (to monitor app health).
Permissions and why we request them
----------------------------------
- Notifications: required to deliver habit reminders. The app requests notifications permission at runtime (Android 13+).
- Internet: required for optional features such as in-app purchases, AI chat, and updates.
- Billing: to enable in-app purchases via Google Play Billing.
- We do not request permissions that we do not need. Exact alarm and boot-receiver permissions are not included unless a specific feature explicitly requires them.
Security
--------
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You should protect access to your device and back up any important data you wish to keep.
Children's privacy
------------------
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us to request deletion.
Your rights and choices
-----------------------
- Opt-out: You may opt out of analytics/crash reporting (if an option is provided inside the App) and disable notifications at the OS level.
- Data export & deletion: If the App offers an export feature, you may export your data. To request deletion of any data we store on our servers (if applicable), contact us at thaimahjj@gmail.com. We will respond to verifiable requests and comply within applicable laws.
- Access and correction: You may request access to or correction of personal data we maintain about you (subject to verification).
International transfers
-----------------------
If we transfer data to third parties in other countries, we will take steps to ensure compliance with applicable laws and that appropriate safeguards are in place.
Changes to this policy
----------------------
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after such changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
