Z1 Stitcher Lens Calibration Guide

This lens calibration process maximizes stitching quality for your RICOH THETA Z1. Once this process is successfully done, you don't need to repeat it any more.

Before you start calibration, please confirm that the current image captures FAR objects (at >=5m distance) along stitching line (edge of image circle). Capturing outdoor scene by tilting 90 degree (one lens faces to sky) is the easiest way. See examples below.

As next step, you need to pick up 4 corresponding points between two fisheye images. Please keep in mind following 3 things.

  1. Choose points evenly e.g. every 90 degree for 4 points.
  2. Make sure they are correctly corresponding. Sometimes you may find similar, but wrong one.
  3. Keep distance from edge of image circle roughly same.
